(Minghui.org) I am an obstetrician. I have been practicing Falun Dafa since July, 1997. I take every opportunity to tell my patients the true story of Falun Dafa from different perspectives and help them quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. If it is a brief visit, I will give them a flyer and a DVD of the Shen Yun performances or a truth-clarification CD. If time allows, I will provide them with more detailed information about the CCP and assist them in quitting the Party during their visit.
On one occasion, a patient close to labor was diagnosed with a uterine fibroid tumor of approximately five to six centimeters in size when she underwent an ultrasound scan. Normally, a Caesarean section would be advised, and at the same time, surgery would be performed to remove the tumor. However, given this patient's health and financial situation, it was not recommended.
Prior to labor, I had already told her about Falun Dafa and helped her quit the CCP. During the process of childbirth, I suggested that she stay calm and recite in her mind: “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” So she took my advice, and both her labor and delivery were smooth with no complications. Three months later, during a check-up visit, ultrasound revealed that there was no fibroid tumor to be found. She called me right away and said in excitement: “My tumor is gone!” The technician could not believe that a six centimeter fibroid tumor could completely disappear on its own like that. So she scanned again, with two different sets of ultrasound equipment. As this patient expressed her joy, I reminded her that it was because of Falun Dafa that she was blessed in this way.
This patient recommended me as a doctor to her cousin, and many other referrals followed. Each time, I would clarify the truth and assist them in quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
Another woman had been using a different hospital throughout her pregnancy. However, after hearing that I am a devoted Falun Dafa practitioner, she decided to ask me to be her obstetrician right before her expected due date. She asked me many questions about Falun Dafa, and I answered them all. She told me that a fortune teller had told her that she had a predestined relationship with Buddhas. I told her that Falun Dafa is a cultivation practice of the Buddha Law. Both the woman and her mother were interested. Towards the end of the visit, her mother asked me for a copy of Falun Dafa's main text of teachings, Zhuan Falun .
A fellow practitioner's relative used to have misunderstandings about Falun Dafa because he was illegally arrested and sentenced to eight years in prison. His relative once came to see me for treatment. I took this opportunity to introduce her to Chinese medicine, Western medicine, their different approaches in treating diseases, the health effects of Qigong exercises and why Falun Dafa has cured many people's diseases. She finally understood and started to learn Falun Dafa on her own.
Master has arranged many people to come and see me. They all have a predestined relationship to learn the facts about Falun Dafa. It seems that their babies, new lives in this human world, have brought them here to make the right choice for a bright future. I understand my mission completely. I do my best to help every patient. Sometimes I spend my evenings or days off to take care of them. My sincere compassion has touched my patients' hearts and their families. Some try to thank me with money, but I always decline . I explain to them that I am a Falun Dafa practitioner and Master taught us to walk the most righteous path. I will not accept their money for introducing them to the practice. I will be happy, as long as they remember that Falun Dafa is good.
My sister-in-law supported Falun Dafa when she was alive. She had listened to Master's audio lectures but did not cultivate. She assisted me in protecting my Falun Dafa study materials during the persecution. Two years ago, she passed away.
There is a unique custom in our region. When someone passes away, their family will put a basin at their door before the funeral. Water, dates, chestnuts and money are put in the basin, and ashes are placed underneath it. After the funeral, the family of the deceased person will take out the dates, chestnuts and money from the water and examine the ashes underneath the basin. The image formed by the ashes will tell them about the next life of the deceased person. The image created by the ashes for my sister-in-law was clearly the image of the ancient swastika, the symbol of a Buddha. I took a picture of it with my cell phone and printed it out. When I talk to people about reincarnation and heaven and hell, I will show them this photo. Quite often they are amazed by it and become more interested in what I am telling them.
I feel very honored to be Master's disciple at this special period of time. All of our efforts in offering people salvation are worth it, even if only one person is saved. I'm determined to study the Fa well and offer salvation to as many sentient beings as possible.
