Police Threatened to Kill A Retired Woman

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Zhang Xiuhua, a retired worker from the Nanjing Petrochemical Construction Company, was illegally arrested at her home on March 6, 2014. Her whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Zhang's home was ransacked prior to this arrest. The police didn't find any so-called evidence and asked Ms. Zhang angrily, “Do you want to stay alive or practice Falun Gong?” The police claimed that she had been handing out flyers about the persecution of Falun Gong. They threatened to kill her this time.

Director Fu Weicheng of the Qixia District Domestic Security Division and director Zhai Shoubing of the Yaohuamen Police Station led the home ransacking.

Ms. Zhang Xiuhua, 60, has been persecuted by officials from the local 610 Office and police department since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) banned Falun Gong in 1999. Her home was ransacked, and she was illegally detained at brainwashing centers and detention centers.

Prior Arrests and Detentions

Ms. Zhang was previously arrested in June 2007 when she went to the local Yaohuamen Police Station to see her husband who had been arrested. Pan Shiqing, head of the Qixiao District 610 Office took a large dog along and ransacked her house. She was sentenced to forced labor in May 2011, and to be executed outside of the prison. She was arrested again at the end of 2012 and early 2013.

The officials Bai Zhenghui and others from the local 610 Office ransacked Ms. Zhang's house for two hours on May 29, 2013, without showing any identification. They confiscated her computer, truth clarification materials and other personal items and didn't leave a receipt.

Ms. Zhang's daughter was asked to go to the local Yaohuamen Police Station, where deputy director Zhai Zongbing told her to stop her mother from practicing Falun Gong. The daughter was threatened that if she didn't do it, she would loss her job, using the Chinese policy of guilty by association.
