Additional Persecution News from China – March 15, 2014 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 20 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Meng Fanquan Arrested

Mr. Meng Fanquan was arrested and his home ransacked by officers from the Lubei Police Department on March 13, 2014.

2. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Persecuted

Ms. Dang Fengling was arrested on March 13, 2014.

Police went to Ms. Fu Cuizhi's home on March 13, 2014, and asked if she knew Ms. Dang. When Ms. Fu said she did, the police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

3. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Qian Huifen Arrested

Ms. Qian Huifen was arrested on March 13, 2014, and is being held for 15 days.

4. [Jiangchuan County, Yunnan Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Li Baoxing, Ms. Yang Suoxian, Ms. Zhang Lanying, and Ms. Mei Feng were recently arrested. Ms. Yang is still being held. The three other practitioners were released.

5. [Beipiao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Guiqin Arrested

Ms. Sun Guiqin, 73, was arrested by officers, including director Sun Jiawei, from the Baoguolao Town Police Station on March 11, 2014. She was taken to the police station and released that day.

Her home was ransacked by Zheng Honghai and two other officers from the police station the day before her arrest. They confiscated informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs, and a copy of Minghui Weekly.

6. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Hou Xueling Arrested

Ms. Hou Xueling was arrested by plainclothes officers on the afternoon of March 14, 2014.

7. [Changshu City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Wang Shiyuan Arrested

Mr. Wang Shiyuan was arrested around March 10, 2014, because he distributed informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is being held at a detention center.

8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhou Xiuzhen Detained

Ms. Zhou Xiuzhen was arrested by officers from the local police station on the morning of March 13, 2014. She is being held at the Langfang City Detention Center.

9. [Julu County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Zhanmin and Ms. Wang Zhenrun Arrested

Ms. Li Zhanmin and Ms. Wang Zhenrun were arrested by officers from the Xiaoluzhai Police Station on March 13, 2014, for talking about the persecution of Falun Gong. They were taken to the Julu County Detention Center and later transferred to the Xingtai No. 2 Detention Center.

10. [Longjiang County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Fu Yunping Detained

Ms. Fu Yunping was arrested by officers from the Longjiang County Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of March 10, 2014. She is being held at the Qiqihar City No. 1 Detention Center.

11. [Yangqu County, Shanxi Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced

Four practitioners were sentenced to prison by Yangqu County Court on March 14, 2014. Ms. Zhao Yunxia was sentenced to 14 months, Ms. Liu Fenglin to 13 months, Mr. Hou Chinggong to 12 months, and Mr. Liu Jingyuan to 12 months.

12. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Yumei Arrested

Ms. Wang Yumei from Xinbin County in Fushun City, Liaoning Province, was arrested in Beijing on March 8, 2014, and taken to the Tongzhou District Detention Center.

13. [Anqing City, Anhui Province] Ms. Wu Lihua and Ms. Yu Arrested

Ms. Wu Lihua, 51, and Ms. Yu, about 50, were arrested by officers from the Renminlu Police Station on the morning of March 13, 2014. Officers ransacked their homes the next afternoon.

14. [Shehong County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Wang Caiyu and Ms. Tang Fang Arrested

Ms. Wang Caiyu and Ms. Tang Fang were arrested by officers from the local police station on the afternoon of March 14, 2014. A computer and other personal items were confiscated.

Ms. Zhao Hongbo from Shanxi Province and Ms. Zhang Weiling from Inner Mongolia were arrested and held by officers from the Gaojing Police Station in the Baoshan District of Shanghai on March 5, 2014. They are being held at the police station.

Ms. Sun Yougui, in her 50s, was arrested on March 13, 2014, when she talked to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Zhifang Police Station in the Jiangxia District.

17. [Baishan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Shang Zhixian Died Due to Persecution

Ms. Shang Zhixian was listed as wanted online by the police in 2000 after she went to Beijing to appeal. She left home for 12 years to avoid further persecution. She died of cirrhosis due to the persecution in early March 2014.
