Additional Persecution News from China – March 10, 2014 (20 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 14 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Danleng County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Lianfen Detained and Threatened

Ms. Chen Lianfen, in her 30s, was arrested and taken to a police station on the evening of January 27, 2014, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. She was released later that night. Ms. Chen was arrested again at the end of February and held for 10 days. Police threatened to take her to a brainwashing center.

2. [Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Wu Zhidan and His Family Beaten by Police

Wang, Communist Party secretary, and two Xiyuan Police Station officers went to Mr. Wu Zhidan's home on the afternoon of March 8, 2014 to harass him. Wang Jijun, political head, and two other officers from the same police station soon arrived. They attempted to arrest Mr. Wu's mother. When Mr. Wu's wife stepped forward to intervene, Wang Jijun and the other officers beat her. She suffered multiple injuries to her head, face, and other places. Mr. Wu's mother was knocked down and lost consciousness.

3. [Feicheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhu Hongqin Detained

Ms. Zhu Hongqin, 65, from Beigaoyu Village was arrested for telling people about Falun Gong. She is now in the Feicheng City Detention Center.

4. [Junan County, Shandong Province] Ms. Sun Jiaji Detained

Ms. Sun Jiaji, about 70, was arrested on the morning of March 5, 2014, by the Junan County Domestic Security Division and the Chengxi Police Station for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. The police ransacked her home and took all Falun Gong related materials. She was taken to the Junan County Detention Center.

5. [Beijing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Zhiyao, Ms. Liu Yuhua, and Ms. Geng were arrested around March 6, 2014.

6. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Ji Yunfeng Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Ji Yunfeng, in her 60s, from an urban area, was arrested on the afternoon of March 8, 2014, for telling people about Falun Gong. She is being held in the Dianzi Brainwashing Center.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Yimei Arrested

Ms. Wang Yimei was arrested in Aoxiaoying Village, Yongledian Town, of the Tongzhou District, on the evening of March 8, 2014, for posting Falun Gong informational self-adhesive signs. She was taken to the Yongledian Police Station.

8. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jia Shoufang Taken to Brainwashing Center; Her Young Sons Are Traumatized

Ms. Jia Shoufang brought her two young sons with her to Ye County Park when she distributed Falun Gong informational materials on the afternoon of March 8, 2014. She was arrested and taken to the Dianzi Brainwashing Center. Her children were traumatized after witnessing their mother being illegally arrested. They now stay at home, afraid to leave the house.

9. [Hai'an County, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Hu Hao Detained

Mr. Hu Hao was arrested on March 7, 2014. He is in the Hai'an County Detention Center.

10. [Zhaodong City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Feng Zhifu Secretly Sentenced and Taken to Hulan Prison

Mr. Feng Zhifu, 72, was arrested by the Zhaodong City Police Department and the 610 Office on the afternoon of September 6, 2013. In late January 2014, a few days before the Chinese New Year, Mr. Feng was illegally sentenced to four years in prison. He has been taken to Hulan Prison in Heilongjiang Province.

11. [Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Tang Liansheng Arrested

Mr. Tang Liansheng was arrested on February 28, 2014, for telling people about Falun Gong.

12. [Wuning County, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Zhang Hanhui Detained

Ms. Zhang Hanhui, 60, was arrested on the evening of March 8, 2014. Police ransacked her home. She is now in the Wuning County Police Department Detention Center.

13. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Zhenli Detained

Ms. Liu Zhenli was taken to the No. 1 Detention Center in Wuhan City on March 5, 2014.

14. [Xiaogan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Yang Aihong Arrested

Ms. Yang Aihong was arrested when she went out to tell people about Falun Gong on March 2, 2014.

15. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhu Guimei Sent to Brainwashing Center

Police broke into Ms. Zhu Guimei's home on March 8, 2014, to harass her. They confiscated her Dafa books and took her to a brainwashing center.

16. [Linqu County, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Wenling's Home Ransacked

Officers from the Domestic Security Division and the Yeyuan Town Police Station ransacked Ms. Yang Wenling's home. They took two computers, a printer, and her other personal belongings.

17. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Xiuyun and Ms. Zhu Hongying Arrested

Ms. Chen Xiuyun and Ms. Zhu Hongying from Sihe Town were arrested by officers from the Sihe Town Police Station while distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs locally on the afternoon of March 8, 2014. Ms. Chen's home was ransacked. Their current whereabouts are unknown.

18. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Ms. Wang Haiying Faces Sentencing

Ms. Wang Haiying was arrested and held for close to nine months. The 610 Office tried to fabricate charges to sentence her. Previously, Ms. Wang Haihong, Ms. Wang Haiying's elder sister, was arrested in August 2010 and sentenced to three years in prison.

19. [Gongyi City Henan Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial

Ms. Mu Suxiao and two other practitioners are facing trial on March 11, 2014.

20. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Hu Yuanqin from the Jiangning District was arrested at his office by officers from the Domestic Security Division and members of the 610 Office on the afternoon of March 5, 2014. His home was ransacked.

That same day, Ms. Zhu Defeng was arrested at home. The officers ransacked Ms. Zhu's home and took her Falun Dafa books and a portrait of the founder of Falun Gong.

Mr. Ma Mingliang, Mr. Liang Hansheng, and Ms. Fan Yinzhen were arrested at their homes on March 6 by Domestic Security officers and members of the 610 Office. The police took their Falun Dafa books and portraits of the founder of Falun Gong.
