(Minghui.org) Editors' note: In both Western and Chinese cultures, the principle of karmic retribution, that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions, is widely accepted. The fundamental teaching of Falun Gong is the characteristic of the universe, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. The universe will reward acts that are in harmony with this principle, while doing things such as beating, torturing, and murdering people will incur karmic retribution. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded with good, while evildoings will meet due retribution. Articles such as this one are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing. While many of those who persecute Falun Gong are merely "following orders," the universal law requires that they, too, be held responsible for their actions, and that only by reversing their course of wrongdoing may they escape retribution.
Former Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin started a systematic persecution of 100 million Falun Gong practitioners in China on July 20, 1999.
While injustice has continued in China over the past 14 years, many perpetrators have met with karmic retribution.
The following are nine instances in which middle-aged government officials from Shiyan, Hubei Province died as a result of persecuting Falun Gong.
1. Police Officer Died on His Way to Arrest Practitioners
Under Jiang's policy, wealth and promotion were the primary means used to entice people to participate in the persecution.
Upon learning that police officers were about to arrest practitioners, an officer from Hanjianglu Police Station immediately stopped eating his dinner and left to join his colleagues. Riding very fast on his motorcycle, he crashed into a truck and died at the scene.
2. Journalists' Bus Hit by Boulder
After attending a publicity work meeting in Shiyan about how to persecute Falun Gong, seven people from the Zhushan County TV Station and Newspaper were crushed to death when a huge boulder fell on the bus when driving back home.
One person, who originally had sat in the back, changed seats to the front before the accident happened and died.
3. County Party Head Died from Esophageal Cancer
The general public in China aren't the only people influenced by the Communist Party's propaganda attacking Falun Gong. Its own officials are also victims.
He Xingguo, Zhushan County Party head, who believed the staged Tiananmen Self-immolation hoax, had a deep hatred for Falun Gong. He held a meeting with all Party officials in early 2001, and declared that he wanted to eliminate Falun Gong from the county.
Soon afterwards, his father was diagnosed with esophageal cancer and died six months later. He didn't take this as a warning. He instead continued participating in the persecution.
In March 2002, he was himself diagnosed with esophageal cancer, and died in his forties.
4. Deputy Director of Labor and Employment Bureau Died from Kidney Cancer
A practitioner from Shiyan City Labor and Employment Bureau had become homeless to avoid being arrested when the persecution started. Kuang Chenglu, the bureau's deputy director, led a group of people through half of the country to look for the practitioner.
After they found her and took her back, Kuang verbally insulted her and found fault with her at work.
Three months later, he died from kidney cancer.
5. Security Service Company's General Manager's Bizarre Death
The Shiyan City 610 Office and Police Department collaborated with a security service company to hold many brainwashing sessions on their campus in 2000, 2001, and 2007. The company's general manager, Lan Jiyun, often ordered his security personnel to beat practitioners who refused to renounce their practice.
When practitioners asked him not to participate in the persecution, he didn't listen, but instead insulted and slandered Falun Gong and its founder, and even beat the practitioners himself.
He was driving to Wuhan on November 9, 2007, when he suddenly felt very tired, so he switched with another driver and took a break in the back of the car. He was quiet for a long time. When people in the car tried to wake him up, they found that he had died. He was only 49 and apparently was in good health.
6. Power Supply Bureau's Director Met with Karmic Retribution
Liu Xudong was the director of the Power Supply Bureau of Shiyan City between 2000 and 2001. He had taken three practitioners from his workplace to a brainwashing center. One practitioner was detained there for more than six months, one was fired, and the other was sentenced to prison. Liu pocketed the salaries of all three practitioners.
Liu became the director of Xiangfan Power Supply Bureau in May 2001, and infringed on the workers' benefits. The workers became so angry that they beat him several times and broke his leg.
He was diagnosed with colon cancer and died in August 2002 at the age of 42.
7. Chen Hui Suffered from Karmic Retribution While on Vacation
Chen Hui was an employee from Tongda Group in Shiyan City. His wife was classmates with a practitioner who worked for the same company. The practitioner wrote the wife a letter and included some materials about the persecution.
Chen turned the letter in to the head of the company. The couple was rewarded, but the practitioner was arrested, lost his job, and was subsequently unable make a living.
While on a vacation in October 2004, Chen had a car accident and died.
8. Supply and Marketing Cooperative Director Died a Few Days After Being Diagnosed with Lung Cancer
Bai Shiju, head of the Shiyan Supply and Marketing Cooperative, had assisted 610 Office personnel and police officers in monitoring, harassing, and arresting several practitioners from his workplace after the persecution began on July 20, 1999. Practitioner Shang Junxiu was persecuted to death.
Bai went to the hospital for a health check-up after feeling some discomfort in April 2004. He was diagnosed with advanced stage lung cancer. He died on April 18, 2004.
9. Security Division Head Died from Kidney Cancer
Gan Quanfu, head of the Shiyan Carburetor Factory's security division, assisted police officers many times in arresting practitioners who worked at the factory. The practitioners were later sentenced to prison or taken to a brainwashing center. Several practitioners were forced to become homeless to avoid persecution.
In 2002, a practitioner who just graduated from college was driven out from the office by Gan. The practitioner disappeared and his whereabouts are still unknown.
Gan incurred many rare diseases and developed kidney cancer in 2009. He died in March 2010, at the age of 53.
