(Minghui.org) On January 2, 2014, Judge Lou Yuzhen of the Ganjingzi District Court, Dalian, notified Mr. An Xiangyu's family to be present at his trial on January 13, at 1:00 p.m.
Mr. An Xiangyu, from Bay County of Dalian City, was arrested for posting Falun Gong truth-clarification materials at an Internet café on August 2, 2013. The police ransacked his home that evening.
Persecution of Mr. An's Mother
Mr. An's mother and her friend went to the Bay Border Zone Police Station on August 30, 2013 to obtain Mr. An's detention document.
Both were immediately arrested. Mr An's mother, out of fear, became mentally traumatized, showed symptoms of a heart attacked and started to convulse. She was rushed to the emergency room. Both were released the same day.
Officer Ma Yuanlong from Dalian Bay Yuanbaoshan District, two female members from the street committee, plainclothes officers from the State Security Bureau, officers from the Dalian Bay Border Police Station, and a locksmith broke into Mr. An's home and arrested his mother at noon on September 4.
She was released, and on her return home, her neighbor told her that the police had come to her house, bringing two computers and her son. It appears that the police attempted to fabricate evidence by taking pictures of her son working on the computers posting information about Falun Gong.
On September 8, Officer Ma Yuanlong and another officer showed up at Mr. An's home on September 8, 2013, attempting to take notes. Mr. An's mother refused to answer any of their questions. They threatened her for not cooperating, and left.
Background on Mr. An
Mr. An Xiangyu graduated from the Secondary School of Computer Science of Dalian City. He received four awards for outstanding achievements in his field. After graduating in the spring of 2007, he was invited to participate in the national computer profession contest held in Chongqing City. He won the third prize, and received a special commendation from the Board of Education of Dalian City.
Mr. An was highly praised for his good character and work ethic by his colleagues and boss. His colleagues remarked, “He is willing to help anyone.”
Mr. An began practicing Falun Gong in 1997 and enjoyed good health as a result. He stopped practicing Falun Gong in 1998.
However, he knew that Falun Gong had returned him to good health and despite no longer being a practitioner, he understood that he should live by Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
When Falun Gong and its founder Master Li Hongzhi were vilified, he didn't hesitate to talk to people about the practice.
