(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Liang Qiuyuan was forced to step on the picture of Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, at the Maoming City Brainwashing Center in Guangdong Province. The evildoers at the center use this means to destroy practitioners' will to resist “transformation.”
Ms. Liang from Poxin Town in the Maogang District in Maoming City was arrested along with 13 other practitioners on November 2, 2013, during a group Falun Gong study.
She was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and sent to the Maoming City Brainwashing Center.
Ms. Liang's Personal Account
The local 610 Office interrogated me on November 2, 2013, the day of my arrest. I refused to answer the questions such as where the Falun Gong materials were produced.
I was transferred to the Maoming City Brainwashing Center at 1:00 a.m. on November 3. Surveillance cameras were installed in every cell at the brainwashing center. Employees Zhang Zhongyun and Wu Zhongyu ordered us to write the guarantee statement, promising to renounce Falun Gong.
I tried to explain to them that they were violating existing Chinese law, but they refused to listen. Instead they said, “Even Liang Shaolin was 'transformed.' Who could be tougher than her?” He also claimed that there were over 300 practitioners in Maoming City, and that he would “transform” all of them.
Zhang tried to force me to be disrespectful of Mr. Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong. He showed me a picture of Mr. Li and asked, “Do you know him?” I put my palms together to show my respect. Zhang then covered my head with the picture and pressed it very hard. I couldn't hold my balance and fell over on the floor.
He then dragged me toward the picture. I knew he wanted to see me sit on it. I held onto the wooden sofa and refused to move.
He took my shoes off and was going to put them on the picture. I stopped him. Zhang pushed me aside, stepped on the picture, and jumped up and down. It pained my heart to see Mr. Li's picture mutilated.
I confronted him and said, “It is known that you injected practitioner Ms. Li Mei from the Poxin area with unknown drugs. As a result, she became mentally disordered and passed away. It is you who persecuted her to death.” Zhang then threatened to give me an injection.
Persecution in Poxin Town
After the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, officers from the Poxin Police Station and the 610 Office followed Jiang Zemin's orders closely and persecuted local practitioners.
Ms. Tian Huiying was tortured to death at the Sanshui Women's Forced Labor Camp on July 6, 2005. Ms. Li Mei was held at the Maoming Brainwashing Center for three years starting in July 2001 and became mentally disordered. She died in 2004.
