(Minghui.org) I invited the mother of a friend to watch the 2013 Shen Yun performance DVD at my home because she was against Falun Dafa. After she had seen the show she was so moved that she said, “I need to change my attitude towards Falun Dafa.”
Fooled by the Party
My friend has a good understanding of Falun Dafa, but her mother was fooled by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) media that besmirched and misrepresented the practice.
One time my friend's mother saw that her daughter was reading a Falun Dafa book. The mother scolded her, took all the books and CDs, and returned them to me. She said, “Children shouldn't read these types of books.”
My friend then asked me to clarify the facts about Falun Dafa to her mother.
I gave my friend a DVD of the Shen Yun Performing Arts performance last year. Unfortunately, her mother took it and hid it. She told me what happened, and I promised to speak to her mother when there was an opportunity. That was more than a year ago.
Clearing Up Misunderstandings about Falun Dafa
Her mother needed my help this morning. I helped her and she was pleased. I then asked why she did not go to the gym, and she said it was because it was a rainy day. I asked her to come to my house and watch television, and she agreed. When I turned on the 2013 Shen Yun show she liked what she saw.
She was quite focused on watching the show and truly enjoyed it. She said, “I like the music. It makes me feel very calm. The dances are beautiful and so is the backdrop. I like the words in the songs, too. I have never seen a show this great. It truly represents Chinese traditional culture.”
After the show she asked me some questions and I answered them all. Then she said, “This show should be shown in the best theaters in China. I am sure many people would enjoy it. There is a lack of moral education in China. Many people focus on making money without regard for moral obligations. In the past, I believed in the CCP and what the Party said about Falun Dafa. I now know the CCP has been lying. Falun Gong advises people to be good and to maintain a high moral standard. After seeing the show I know our Creator is telling me to quit the CCP.”
My friend's mother withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations. She convinced her husband to withdraw from the CCP, too.
