(Minghui.org) The seed of cultivating Dafa was buried in my heart in 1999. At that time my understanding of cultivation practice was at a low level: I thought that cultivation was just to be a good person. Therefore, when the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to fanatically slander and defame Dafa, this unexpected turn of events made me give up cultivation for a period of time.
However, I could not forget the beauty of Dafa. When I was on the brink of death in 2005, Master compassionately arranged for me to meet a fellow practitioner. Dafa saved my life, and I discovered the way back to my origin once again. I started truly cultivating Dafa.
The following are several incidents that happened to me during my cultivation.
Five-year Debt Repaid
In 1991 my husband and I lost our jobs, one after the other. We subsequently started a business. Since then, for over 20 years, we have gone through a lot of hardships in our business undertakings.
Before I started cultivation, we had been operating our business for 12 years, and we had setbacks every year.
A restaurant owed us money since 2001. Over five years, their debt accumulated to more than 15,000 yuan. We could not afford to buy a house to live in. On top of that, we had to pay exorbitant medical fees for an elderly family member.
Initially I was able to patiently ask for payment of the debt. However, the other party still refused to pay the debt. I made a scene and even had a fight with them. Later on we sued them in court. Yet the matter was still not resolved.
After I resumed cultivation, I handled these issues differently. For example, I looked at this from the Fa: Why did the restaurant refuse to pay what they owed us? Master taught us in Zhuan Falun: “In cultivation practice, there may be two scenarios when dealing with specific conflicts or when others treat you badly. One is that you might have treated this person badly in your previous life. You feel in your heart that it is unfair, 'How can this person treat me like this?' Then why did you treat this person that way in the past? You might claim that you actually did not know it at that time, and this life has nothing to do with the other life. That does not work.” (Lecture Four)
I understood this principle and decided that if I didn't owe them anything from a previous life, then sooner or later, they would repay the debt. If it is because I was indebted to them for my actions in a previous life, then I should regard this debt as repayment for what I owed them in the past.
When I let go of this attachment, the owner of the restaurant unexpectedly repaid every single cent he owed me.
It is truly as Master said: “If something is yours, you will not lose it. If something is not yours, you will not have it even if you fight for it.” (Lecture Seven in Zhuan Falun)
Gaining the Trust of Other Businesses
On one occasion I paid for a purchase at a shop and the other party mistakenly gave me back 5,000 yuan instead of 500. I immediately returned the excess money, and the person thanked me profusely for my honesty.
I said, “I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. My master taught us to conduct ourselves according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. You should thank Him instead.”
I also asked the cashier, “If I did not practice Falun Dafa, would I have returned this money to you today? Falun Dafa practitioners are good and considerate people.”
Before I left, I gave him a disc with software to break through the Chinese regime's Internet firewall, and I suggested that he withdraw from the Communist Party.
Another incident took place after that. Consequently, the reputation and credibility of our business was boosted among our trading partners.
My company changed our staff in batches every year. Due to our inexperienced new staff, receiving fake money was a common occurrence. To prevent these counterfeit bills from circulating, I kept and displayed them in rows under the glass panel on the office desk.
As time passed, these counterfeit bills amounted to over 2,000 yuan. My employees felt uneasy about it and asked me to let them “spend” them.
I told them that we cannot do so, and in front of them I lit a fire and burned all the counterfeit bills.
News of this incident quickly spread to other businesses. All of them were full of admiration for what I had done. From then on, we rarely received fake notes. All the other businesses I came in contact with understood the truth about Falun Dafa (as opposed to the CCP's propaganda). They also renounced their membership in the CCP and its related organizations. Some even began to practice Falun Dafa.
Dafa has blessed my family with good fortune. Within a few years, my company has built up assets exceeding ten million yuan!
A Large Test of Sentimentality
My younger brother had been given away six months after he was born because our family was too poor to raise him.
I had a dream in 2008 which prompted me to search for my younger brother. Perhaps this was a test for me on my cultivation path. During that time, I was so depressed that food did not taste good to me, and I could not sleep at night.
I slacked off in doing the three things, but I did not stop studying the Fa. Once when I read the following paragraph, I realized that it was clearly pointing out my attachment: “You may have seen interference from a relative who has passed away, and this person cries and begs you to do this or that. All kinds of things can happen. Will your mind stay unaffected? Suppose that you are very fond of this child of yours or love your parents, and your parents have passed away. They told you to do some things... all of which are things that you should not do. If you do them, it will be bad. It is just so tough to be a practitioner.” (Lecture Six in Zhuan Falun)
Was this a hint from Master? I said to Master: “If in this life, I still have a predestined relationship with my brother, then please help to re-establish this lost tie. Otherwise let me forget about him completely.” After that, I truly stopped thinking of him!
However, very soon after, Master found my brother, whom I had lost contact with for 38 years. Indeed, in our school of cultivation, what's most important is the cultivation of our mind. Master said: “The key is whether you can abandon that attachment.” (Lecture Four in Zhuan Falun)
Unscathed after a Car Accident
In May, 2012 my husband and I drove into the provincial city for business dealings. On the way back, I slept while my husband drove. Suddenly, a large truck came very close to us from behind. Just as we were about to collide with the truck, I woke up from my sleep and shouted loudly: “Master, save us! Falun Dafa is good!”
Immediately, it seemed as if someone was pulling our car, and then we stopped. We were not injured. When we got out of the car to inspect the damage, the hood was totally scrapped. Yet both of us were fine.
