(Minghui.org) Weinan Prison of Shaanxi Province, also called No. 2 Shaanxi Prison, currently detains over 20 Falun Gong practitioners. One of the prison guards in charge of torturing practitioners there is Zhang Zhongqiu. He has been capitalizing on the persecution as a source of his political capital and was awarded second prize by the Bureau of Prison Supervision of Shaanxi Province.

Zhang is a team lead in the Prison Admission Section (also known as the No. 11 division), responsible for “transforming” Falun Gong practitioners. “Transformation” is the term the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) uses to describe the process of coercing a practitioner to abandon his belief.

Zhang directs inmates to force practitioners to read materials that slander Falun Gong and write “thought reports.” As to the practitioners who refuse to “transform,” Zhang tortures them with severe beatings and other methods.

Zhang forbids practitioners to talk and prohibits any interactions between practitioners and other inmates, except for those designated to watch the practitioners. They are forced to remain in their cells at all times, and no matter what practitioners do, they have to report their actions or needs to the assigned inmates who watch them.

Mr. Duan Baojun, a practitioner in Baoji City, was subjected to the “hanging as an airplane” torture.

Gao Shouhai, a practitioner from Xianyang, was forced to sit on a small plastic stool for over 10 hours each day for several days. He was severely beaten whenever he moved.

Zhang Zhongqiu also directs inmates to force practitioners to write the three statements to renounce their belief. Then he hosts “criticism conferences” to force practitioners to read their statements in public and he videotapes the session.

Further information on the crimes committed at No. 2 Prison in Shaanxi Province has yet to be exposed. We hope practitioners in Shaanxi can collect more information and expose more crimes committed at that jail.
