(Minghui.org) The 610 Office and Procuratorate of Donggang City, Liaoning Province sentenced 65-year-old Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Sun Guiling to three years in prison on July 15, 2013. She was sentenced in order to meet a quota assigned by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) of Dandong City. Ms. Sun is now detained at Shenyang Women's Prison.
Ms. Sun lived in the Caobao Group, Xiaodianzi Village, Xiaodianzi Town, Donggang City. Before practicing Falun Dafa, she suffered from a severe brain injury. She was thin, weak and unable to work or look after herself. This condition caused great hardship for herself, her husband and her children. Ms. Sun and her son started to practice Falun Dafa in 2000. She began to completely change: her brain function became normal, she became strong and could help with work around the house. Falun Dafa changed her life and brought happiness to her family.
Ms. Sun knows that Falun Dafa is a righteous practice, and was very grateful to Master Li for saving her. After seeing the CCP lying to the Chinese people and slandering Dafa, Ms. Sun stepped up to tell people the facts. She explained how the CCP had lied about and persecuted Falun Gong. Her actions caused the CCP to begin monitoring her.
Bi Xisong from the Heigou Township Police Station, Wang Xingjiang and Wang Yanjun from the Xiaodianzi Police Station and a dozen other police knocked on the door of Ms. Sun's home at 9 p.m. on May 20, 2003. Ms. Sun refused to open the door for them. The police then started to try breaking down the door. After this failed, Bi Xisong climbed to the window and broke in. The police arrested Ms. Sun and her two sons (also practitioners) and held the family at the Donggang Detention Center. Sun Guiling refused to give up her belief and was released in May 2005.
Ms. Sun went to a fair on the morning of May 13, 2012. When she passed the CCP Committee of her village, she put up a poster “Celebrating World Falun Dafa Day” on the door. The head of the village, Sun Guishu, saw this and asked Ms. Sun to come into the house. In the house, Ms. Sun told him the facts about Falun Dafa and tried to persuade him to quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations.
Sun Guishu called the Xiaodianzi police, asking them to arrest her. There was no one in the police station that day, so Sun called the Donggang police. Later, Chu Faquan led police from the Xiaodianzi Police Station to arrest Ms. Sun. They also broke into her home and confiscated computers and Falun Dafa books. Chu Faquan interrogated her for a long time but she did not admit to any wrongdoing.
Other Falun Gong practitioners kept telling Sun Guishu about Falun Dafa. They also told him about the principle that good will be rewarded and evil will receive retribution. Sun Guishu eventually told the police that he had made up lies about Ms. Sun and asked them to release her. However, the police said that the case was already filed and could not be changed. Upon Sun Guishu's insistence, the police station asked the public security bureau to allow bail for Ms. Sun.
The CCP of Dandong City distributed persecution quotas to its cities and counties in June 2013. To fulfill their quotas, the 610 Office and police stations of Donggang City used rewards to entice people to report Falun Gong practitioners. At the end of June, Pan Shilin, the new head of the Xiaodianzi Police Station, Huang Yanpeng and Xiao Zhenghang from the police station tried arresting Ms. Sun. They broke into her home twice in June but she was not home.
During the morning of July 1, Pan Shiling directed policeman Wang Yanjun and driver Song Dianyong to go to Ms. Sun's home again. This time, Ms. Sun was the only person at home. The police did not show a warrant, but pushed her into the police car. They interrogated Ms. Sun in the Xiaodianzi Police Station until 3 p.m. and then took her to the procuratorate of Donggang City. Later Ms. Sun was kept in the Dandong Detention Center.
The Donggang Court secretly issued a three-year sentence without going through the proper legal procedures on July 15 and did not inform Ms. Sun's family about the sentence. Ms. Sun tore up the court verdict to show that she did not acknowledge this persecution.
In August, Ms. Sun was taken to Shenyang Women's Prison and was assigned to the fourth group. She was forced to stack cartons from morning to night every day. When her son visited her, they could only communicate through a phone and separated by a window for 10 minutes. The clothes brought for Ms. Sun were rejected by the prison, as they wanted Sun to buy clothes in the prison at very expensive prices.
