(Minghui.org) On July 6, 1996, I read Zhuan Falun and realized that it is very good. I wanted to read more and learn to practice Falun Dafa right away. But because my understanding of the Fa was very limited and shallow, all I could say was, “Every word Master said in the book is true, every word.”
Before I began practicing, I had a dream. I dreamed that a ladder came down from the sky. I didn't understand it at the time. After I started practicing, I finally understood – Falun Dafa is a ladder to Heaven that Master has left us.
I did the exercises and studied the Fa every day, even though I didn't quite understand what was taught in the book. My faith was very strong and I never wavered. I went on this way for more than two years. One night I dreamed that many practitioners were studying the Fa. I joined them and asked which page they were on. As soon one practitioner said, “Page 11,” I woke up. I turned to page 11 and saw “Zhen-Shan-Ren is the Sole Criterion to Discern Good and Bad People.” I suddenly understood. Hadn't I been studying these three characters all this time? I realized that because Master saw my sincere heart, He gave me this hint through a dream. I said, “Master, thank you for the hint. I will not let you down. I will follow your requirements and advance diligently in genuine cultivation.” From then on, I have firmly remembered what was taught on page 11.
Clarifying the Facts
On July 20, 1999, the CCP launched the persecution of Dafa. Having lost the environment of Fa-study and practice, my heart was very troubled. I couldn't understand why the CCP was trying to stop us from practicing something so wonderful, so I decided to appeal to the authorities. I went to the provincial government along with fellow practitioners, and saw many practitioners from other areas already outside the building, waiting. As soon as the police saw us, they took us to a room in the railway station and asked each of us, “When did you start practicing? Who taught you? Who else in your family also practices?” The other practitioners knew what the police were doing and got around it tactfully. Then it was my turn. Because I was new and didn't understand what the police were doing, fellow practitioners silently asked Master's help to keep the police from questioning me. Suddenly someone entered the room and said, “No need to question them. Let them go!” We got home safely under Master's protection.
Later, I was arrested for validating the Fa and was persecuted for three months. After I returned home, my environment completely changed. CCP agents often came to my home to intimidate and harass me. My family and friends also tried to persuade me to give up practicing, especially my husband, who started watching me every moment to keep me from studying the Fa, practicing, or contacting fellow practitioners.
My eldest daughter was sentenced to forced labor for practicing and clarifying the facts. Her husband blamed it all on me. He started cursing me as soon as he came to my house, and followed me around, swearing. I said, “I won't stop you. I understand your pain. You cannot let it out at home, feel free to let it all out here. You will feel better afterward. I won't blame you.”
One day, he and my husband planned to hold a “Family Criticizing Meeting” to criticize me. I said, “I'm cultivating Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Which one is a crime? Which law have I broken? What right do you have to criticize me? You are aiding evil to do evil. Instead of protecting your immediate family members, you are teaming up with the evildoers to attack me. Do you think that's right?” They fell silent and started thinking it over.
As the persecution against us kept escalating, the CCP held brainwashing sessions non-stop, trying to destroy our truth-clarification efforts to save people. The old forces' goal is to destroy everyone. As soon as the CCP's “sensitive dates” came up, personnel from the 610 Office, the Political and Security Section, and the neighborhood committee came around, trying to get me into brainwashing sessions. One day, three people from the Political and Security Section came to see me and asked, “Do you still practice Falun Dafa?” I responded, “'...with one person practicing, the whole family benefits.'(Teaching the Fa at the Fa Conference in Australia) How could I stop practicing?” I pointed to my husband and said, “A witness is right in front of your eyes. My husband used to have high blood pressure and years of injections and medication couldn't cure it. After I started practicing, he has not touched any medication for over two years. He is very healthy now, and has saved so much in medical expenses.” One of them asked my husband, “Is Falun Gong good?” My husband answered, “Falun Gong is good.”
At the time I had fear and therefore didn't clarify the facts to them thoroughly. I regretted this very much afterward.
Before long, personnel from the 610 Office and the neighborhood committee came to see me again and said, “The city will hold a 'training class' and we'd like you to attend. We will pay you 50 yuan allowance a day.” I thought, “This is my chance to tell them the facts.” I said, “I won't attend even if you pay me 500 or 5,000, let alone 50. You're doing something wrong, but you don't realize it. I'm trying to be a good person following Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. You are trying to 'transform' me through a class--what are you transforming me into? Aren't you doing a bad deed? If I cooperated with you, I would be harming you.” The secretary became angry and started yelling and cursing Master and Dafa. I sat there calmly and was unmoved. I recited Master's poem,
“Be resolute cultivating Dafa, the mind unstirred
Climbing in levels is what’s fundamental
Faced with tests, a person’s true character is revealed
May you Consummate—
a Buddha, Dao, or God”
(Hong Yin Vol. II - True Character is Revealed)
and at the same time sent forth righteous thoughts to eliminate the evil beings and elements that were controlling him in other dimensions.
A moment later, he asked, “Will Li Hongzhi return to China?” I answered calmly, “My Master is sure to return. Wait and see.” I continued, “You should stop persecuting us. Practitioners are all good people and kindhearted. Our Master told us to become good people and there is nothing wrong with that. I used to have all kinds of diseases, including heart disease, stomach trouble, epilepsy, rheumatoid arthritis, and so on. They all disappeared after I started practicing Falun Gong. How could I not say it's good? Now with the Party leader persecuting Falun Gong out of jealousy, people are not allowed to practice, otherwise you might be practicing.”
They asked me about the “Tiananmen self-immolation.” I told them, “It was staged by the CCP to confuse people, in order to provoke hatred against Falun Gong and justify their increased persecution. Tell me, if the Sprite bottle was filled with gasoline, how could it stay intact and clean while the person next to it was covered with black smoke? Isn't this strange? Also, if the little girl, Liu Siying, was so badly burned, why wasn't she in isolation? Instead, she was doing a close-up interview with a reporter who was not even wearing sterile clothing or a mask. Why did the Party do this? Falun Gong practitioners include PhD degree holders, Master's degree holders, post-graduate students, senior officials and intellectuals. Do you think they are all stupid? Why would they continue practicing? Now Falun Gong is practiced in more than 100 countries and regions, which is a fact, but why is it only persecuted in China? If what the TV programs said was true, everyone would have stopped practicing long ago. Would there be any need for you to work so hard and make trips like this over and over again?” They couldn't argue with me and left in silence.
My legs had been aching for almost a year prior to this. I kept looking inside but couldn't identify my issue. When I worked them out, my legs never hurt again. I realized that the old forces wanted to use that form to persecute me and make me give up practicing, have people commit crimes against Dafa and destroy them. However, Master used the persecution to help them position themselves and at the same time, allowed me to raise my xinxing and level.
Studying the Fa Well and Saving People
As the Fa-rectification progresses, saving people is even more urgent. How can I truly save them? Master said, “The Fa can break all attachments, the Fa can destroy all evil, the Fa can shatter all lies, and the Fa can strengthen righteous thoughts.” (Essentials for Further Advancement II - “Drive Out Interference”) I'm not very educated and am having difficulty understanding the Fa. I thought, “Reading the Fa doesn't work for me, so I will write it down. I'm a practitioner and have Master's help.” I started copying the Fa. At first, I could only copy a short paragraph a day, but “Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master.” (Zhuan Falun, Lecture One). Now I can copy five to six pages a day, and I am on my seventh time copying Zhuan Falun. Copying the Fa can help reinforce my memory and helps guide my daily conduct using the Fa. Every day, besides studying the Fa, copying the Fa and practicing I try to save people through truth-clarification.
I have met the neighborhood committee chief a few times through doing business and truth-clarification there. He seemed very nice and dedicated to his work. I thought, “Such a good person deserves to be saved.” One day, when no one else was in the office, I asked him, “Have you heard of 'Quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations?'” He replied, “Yes I have. I'm a Party member, but I have nothing good to say about it. China's society is in chaos, corruption exists in all levels of government officials, everyone is criticizing the Party.” Seeing his attitude, I said directly, “There are so many natural and man-made calamities nowadays, and the key reason is because the CCP is persecuting good people who practice Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. This is against the heavenly principles and the heavens are going to destroy it. If you joined the Party, its Youth League or Young Pioneers, you are a part of it and will be eliminated along with it. Can I give you an alias and help you quit?” He said, “Sure. There are four more Party members at home, please help us all quit.” I said, “You must make sure they agree.” He said, “I will definitely let them know.” I'm happy that his entire family is saved and gave him a copy of Zhuan Falun and some Falun symbols. He held the book with both hands and said, “I will read it carefully. Thank you! Thank you!”
My daughter was reported by someone while handing out truth-clarification materials, and was held in a detention center. Fellow practitioners sent forth righteous thoughts for her release. Some went to police departments and courts to clarify the facts. Practitioner A and I persisted in clarifying the facts in the police department every day. We worked as a team, with one doing the talking and the other sending forth righteous thoughts. We went to the Political and Security Section and talked to their leader. I said, “My daughter has not come home for several days. Why are you keeping her?” An officer replied, “She was distributing a big bag of materials.” I said, “Understanding the facts is a person's hope of salvation. You see so many disasters nowadays, and they are happening in order to wake people up. You are the group of people who have the most contact with Falun Gong practitioners, so you need to think for yourselves. Don't blindly do whatever the CCP tells you to do, otherwise you'll blindly follow it and be doomed. Don't leave behind everlasting regrets. Don't lose this opportunity of being saved.” They kept nodding and asked, “If Falun Gong is so good, then why does the Party oppose it?”
The next day, practitioner A and I brought the materials that are related to legal matters to that section leader. He made sure nobody was watching and quickly put the materials in his desk drawer. He said, “Now you should go home.” I came to understand that everyone is waiting to be saved, so we must seize the time to study the Fa and cultivate ourselves well. Only by doing so can we do better in saving people, fulfill our prehistoric vows and live up to Master's merciful and arduous salvation.
Now my entire family practices Falun Dafa. I am the happiest person on earth, because I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. I am cultivating the greatest and most sacred Fa in the cosmos, and have the most cherished title – Fa-rectification Period Dafa Disciple. Following Master to do Fa-rectification is my mission; saving people is my prehistoric vow and responsibility. We are lives that came for the Fa. Our millions upon millions of years of waiting is all for today. Therefore, no matter under what circumstances, no matter how much hardship I encounter, I will steadfastly follow Master to the end. Our Esteemed Master has created such a golden opportunity for us. Please cherish Master's merciful salvation and our sacred bond with Master! Let's do the Three Things well, and save more people so that they can have a wonderful future.
