(Minghui.org) I am a relatively new Falun Dafa practitioner, having begun the practice in 2011. I had been having difficulties clarifying the facts about Dafa. I didn't know how to approach people, which made me quite anxious. Recently, however, a seemingly small incident helped me make a breakthrough.
In September, a friend gave me two books about Buddhism and told me I should read them carefully. He told me that worshiping Buddha could bring blessings.
I asked, “Can you tell me what the Buddha Fa is?” He stared at me blankly. I continued, “Shakyamuni said there were 84,000 cultivation ways for cultivating Buddhahood. What is your way?”
I spoke of the differences between the Buddha school qigong and Buddhism, prehistoric culture, and other things I had learned from reading Falun Dafa materials. I am not very good with words, but somehow ideas just came to me and I had so much to say. He was very impressed and said, “I didn't know that you were so knowledgeable.” I told him that everything I said came from the book Zhuan Falun and that he really should read it.
He borrowed my book and told me a few days later, “This is such a wonderful book. I want to practice Falun Dafa.”
I looked inward and found that I had always looked outward when I talked to people about Falun Dafa. I focused on content and techniques that I thought were convincing, and came up with different situations and scenarios which rarely happen in real life. The result was usually not good.
Because of the above incident, I realized that all I needed to do was to read the Falun Dafa books diligently and immerse myself in the Fa.
Understanding the Fa Fundamentally
After understanding this most fundamental truth about Falun Dafa, I was deeply moved by what Master has endured to spread the Fa and his boundless compassion. He started with the very basic and gradually guided us to understand the Fa at higher levels. His progressive approach made us who we are today, Dafa disciples of the Fa-rectification period. Why can't we do the same with sentient beings? I finally realized that I must study the Fa well and assimilate to the Fa. Then I will attain the power of the Fa and be able to clarify the truth about Falun Dafa well and save sentient beings.
I started to study the Fa more and clarified the truth at school. The more I do it, the better I get. I receive a steady stream of ideas and wisdom.
Once, a female Western student asked me, “You said that Falun Dafa is good, so why is it persecuted in China?” I asked, “Well, Christianity is good, but it was persecuted for more than 300 years. Why was that?” To my surprise, she replied, “It is because Nero, the Roman emperor, was evil and cruel. People of the Roman Empire believed in his lies and feared him.” I said, “Yes. Isn't that the best answer to your question? The Communist regime that is persecuting Falun Dafa today is more evil than Nero ever was.”
I told her about the staged Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident, why so many people around the world are practicing Falun Dafa, and many facts about the Chinese Communist Party. With tears in her eyes, she said, “Now I know that Falun Dafa is a righteous belief.” I told her to recite often, “Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” She immediately said in Chinese, “Falun Dafa hao (Falun Dafa is good).”
As the Fa rectification progresses, more and more sentient beings are learning the facts about Dafa. Ordinary people's notions are sometimes just like a layer of paper that could be easily broken through. People are eager to learn about Dafa, so it's extremely important for Dafa disciples to study the Fa well. Only when we study the Fa well will the mighty power of Dafa be present when we clarify the truth, and will sentient beings be saved.
