(Minghui.org) A deputy judge in Jiaozuo City, Henan Province ordered a medical examination of four Falun Gong practitioners two days before their scheduled trial on December 11, 2014. He wanted to make sure they were fit to stand trial, but it remains unclear whether the hearing took place as planned.

Mr. Tian Changqing (田常青), Ms. Li Taizhi (栗太枝), Ms. Jin Xiaoliu (靳小留), and Mr. Guo Jiangtao (郭江涛) potentially face imprisonment for their beliefs amid the Chinese Communist regime's fifteen-year persecution of Falun Gong.

Their health conditions have deteriorated since their arrest. Even some police officers asked Judge Han Xuan of Qinyang Court to drop the case.

Han, however, refused and said, “We receive many phone calls every day asking me to acquit [the practitioners], but let me tell you: the more calls I receive, the heavier sentence I'm going to give them!”

Mr. Tian remains hospitalized after a heart problem caused him to fall and hit his head.

Ms. Li, 57, is currently held in Jiaozuo City Detention Center. She developed edema all over her body and hasn't been able to keep food down for many days. Years ago, a blood transfusion caused her to contract hepatitis A, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and Sheehan syndrome, all of which disappeared after she began to practice Falun Gong.

Ms. Jin, a 78-year-old woman who lives alone, was arrested at her home. She now remains at Jiaozuo City Detention Center.

Mr. Guo has been held at Qinyang Detention Center since his arrest on April 8, 2014.
