(Minghui.org) The afternoon before the Prime Minister Harper's departure for the APEC summit in Beijing, Falun Gong practitioners and their supporters rallied in front of the Parliament Hall in Ottawa, asking the Prime Minister to help end the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Some Members of the Parliament joined Falun Gong and their supporters at the rally. Many passersby expressed their support by signing on the petition to end the live organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in China. Chinese tourists quit the Communist Party and its affiliated organizations to sever their ties with the regime.

The rally received much attention from the media. “We sent out the media release only four days ago after we learned the Prime Minister's schedule last Friday. We saw reporters from 7 or 8 TV stations at the press conference at 11:30 this morning. And CBC broadcast the proceedings at 'The National' program between 9pm and 10 pm.” Said Mr. Li Xun, the president of Falun Dafa Association of Canada.

“Honorable MP Ms. Judy Sgro asked the Prime Minister to raise the Falun Gong issue and stop the organ harvesting during his trip to Beijing at a parliament meeting on the same afternoon where Mr. Harper and all Members of Parliament attended.

“Even we had very little time to organize this event, there are still four Members of the Parliament attended out activity in persons.” Said Li Xun, “We thanked for their support. Leader of Green Party, honorable MP Elizabeth May replied, 'It is my honor to come and support you.'”

Passersby signed on petition to end the organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners in China.

Passersby are reading the display boards about the persecution of Falun Gong in China.

Falun Gong practitioners rallied in front of the Parliament Hall in Ottawa.

Mr. Doug Palmer from Ontario wants the Prime Minister to address Falun Gong with Chinese leaders on his APEC trip.

Mr. Hikamd from Lebanon also wants the Prime Minister to speak up for Falun Gong.

Human rights advocate Ms. Hou Wenzhuo attended the rally to support Falun Gong. “I know Falun Gong is the group being suppressed the most in China. Human rights lawyer Mr. Gao Zhisheng is my friend. He is a human rights pioneer. He has been tortured in China. But Falun Gong practitioners are subject to all the tortures he has endured and more,” she said. “China will see the hope after the Party is gone. Falun Gong practitioners have done a lot to awaken the Chinese people.”

Mr. Doug Palmer, visiting from Collingwood Ontario, signed the petition and agreed that the persecution of Falun Gong in China is absolutely wrong, and that the organ harvesting atrocities should come to an immediate end. He joined many others in asking Prime Minister Harper to confront China on human rights and the persecution of Falun Gong in particular.

Mr. Hikamd from Lebanon said this was the first time he heard about the persecution of Falun Gong. He commented that everyone should have freedom of belief and should not be jailed for their beliefs. Like the others, he hoped that the Prime Minister would address the issue with Chinese leaders.
