(Minghui.org) The Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) persecution of Falun Gong practitioners is very severe in the Dalian area of Liaoning Province. But there are some good people who have learned and understood the facts about Falun Gong. They use their positions to protect and help practitioners. For their safety, we have given them aliases, but history will remember them forever.
1. Police Officer Refuses to Arrest Practitioners
Xinsheng is a squadron leader in a police station. In 2001 his superior ordered him to go to Beijing and arrest practitioners who had gone to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong. Many of the police officers who participated in that effort earned hefty bonuses, but Xinsheng refused to take part.
He told his friend, “Practitioners are all good people. Some of them are elderly, and practice it to improve their health. I don't want to arrest them. I don't want to make money like that. If I want to earn a bonus, I will arrest criminals.”
2. Police Officer Assists Practitioners Financially
Haoyun is a police officer in Dalian City. He came into contact with many illegally detained practitioners. At first he believed the lies about Falun Gong perpetrated by the CCP. But, after having talked with numerous practitioners, he realized that they had one thing in common – they all lived by the principles Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and that they were good people.
Haoyun found that practitioners were truthful, kind, responsible, willing to help others, and never returned violence with violence. They continued to peacefully tell the police the facts about Falun Gong, even when they were beaten, abused, and shocked with electric batons.
He said, “I have been in contact with 1,600 detained practitioners. They were all nice. The CCP's suppression of Falun Gong is wrong.” He even retained a list of these 1,600 practitioners for future reference.
Later, Haoyun protected many practitioners. Once, he lent 2,000 yuan to two practitioners to help them to escape during a police chase.
3. A Teacher Protected a Young Girl
Xingxing, a young girl in Dalian City, began to practice Falun Gong at the age of seven in 1997.
Her entire family went to City Hall to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong in July 1999. All were arrested and detained until late in the evening. Xingxing's parents were arrested again in October 2000 for telling people the facts about Falun Gong. Her mother was sentenced to three years of forced labor, and her father was taken to a brainwashing center. Her non-practicing uncle took care of Xingxing and was also arrested. The police demanded 10,000 yuan for his release.
The police went to Xingxing's school and told the principal and her teacher that Xingxing practiced Falun Gong and told them to expel her. The teacher said, “Xingxing is a good child. If practicing Falun Gong can make a child so good, I wish the whole class would practice it.” The police left without saying another word. That teacher also took Xingxing home and let her stay in her home for two and a half years.
In 2006, Xingxing's parents were able to send her to Australia to study.
4. A Business Owner Who Helped Practitioners Benefited Greatly
There is a business owner in Dalian City who is a good person and likes to help people. His wife is also a hard worker and treats people well. One day, a practitioner asked him to help practitioner Xiaoli, who had just been fired for practicing Falun Gong, to get a job. The business owner hired Xiaoli as a salesman with a good salary.
Xiaoli worked hard and treated people well. He made friends with customers and told them the facts about Falun Gong. Some friends of the owner said, “Aren't you afraid that Xiaoli's talking to people about Falun Gong will affect your business?” The owner said, “What he says is the truth.”
He told Xiaoli about the conversation and encouraged him to use the shop to promote Falun Gong. He knew that telling people the facts about Falun Gong could save them, so he always reminded Xiaoli to talk to their customers. He said that they were all old customers and he wanted them to know the facts and be saved. He cherished the predestined relationship with them.
The business was doing very well. A neighbor, who happened to be a police officer's wife, commented, “It is the blessing of Falun Gong.”
When Xiaoli resigned, the business owner asked him to find another practitioner to replace him. Given his experience with Xiaoli, he knows that practitioners are trustworthy.
5. Procurator Helps Practitioners
A practitioner was arrested and sentenced to many years of forced labor for telling people the facts about Falun Gong. His company fired him. A procurator from the procuratorate explained to his family the Chinese laws covering the practitioner's arrest and sentencing and asked them to talk to his company officials.
With the procurator's help, the family realized that under existing Chinese law and the Chinese Constitution, practicing Falun Gong is legal, and that freedom of religion is protected by law. The family talked with the officials and told them that the persecution of Falun Gong is against the law. They also spoke about the law of karmic retribution and that one reaps what one sows. After learning the facts, the company officials asked the practitioner to return to work.
Many practitioners in China have encountered similar situations. There are many people who do not listen to or believe the CCP's lies and have done everything they can to protect practitioners. They and their remarkable actions and will be remembered forever.
