Additional Persecution News from China – October 17, 2014 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 2 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 23 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Mr. Liu Jishun Detained

Mr. Liu Jishun was arrested on October 16, 2014, by agents from the Qidong 610 Office and deputy chief Peng Jian of the Domestic Security Division for mailing letters at the county post office that explained the facts about Falun Gong. His home was ransacked and an MP3 player, Falun Gong books, copies of Minghui Weekly, letters about Falun Gong, and other items were confiscated. Mr. Liu was taken to the Qidong Police Department.

2. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Mr. Xiong Yonghui Detained

Mr. Xiong Yonghui was arrested by Liyuan Police Station officers for talking about Falun Gong on October 16, 2014. He is being held in the Liyuan Police Station.

3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Gao Zhiqin's Home Ransacked

Officers from the Changchun Domestic Security Division and the Yongji Police Station ransacked Ms. Gao Zhiqin's home on October 15, 2014. They confiscated Falun Gong books, a photo of Falun Gong founder Mr. Li Hongzhi, a printer, over 2,000 calendar holders, approximately 6,000 yuan, and other items. Ms. Gao, 75, was taken to the police station and pressured to sign documents.

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Mr. Peng Guangming Arrested

Mr. Peng Guangming from Qibiao Community in the Hongshan District was arrested at home on October 14, 2014, by director Fu Xueming from the Qibiao Residential Committee, Wang Xueming from the Guanshan Police Station, and officers from the Hongshan District. His whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Ningjin County, Hebei Province] Ms. Hua Yunfang Detained

Officers from the Ningjin Domestic Security Division and the Jichangzhuang Police Station arrested Ms. Hua Yunfang at her home in Qingshantou Village and ransacked the home on October 11, 2014. She was taken to Xingtai City on October 13.

6. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Mr. Ye Shumao Detained

Mr. Ye Shumao was arrested at his store on October 16, 2014. He is being held in the Shangying Brainwashing Center in Shulan City.

7. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xu Qiuhong Arrested

Officers from the Keshan Farm Police Department barged into Ms. Xu Qiuhong's home and arrested her on October 16, 2014. They also confiscated a laptop computer, a printer, a Falun Gong book, a stapler, and a notebook.

8. [Dehui City, Jilin Province] Ms. Qi Xiuying Detained

Ms. Qi Xiuying was recently arrested by officers from the Dehui Domestic Security Division and the Zhanqian Police Station. She is being held in the Dehui Detention Center.

9. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Yaqiu Arrested

Ms. Li Yaqiu from Zhang Village was arrested when she was working at a restaurant in Yangting Town on October 16, 2014.

10. [Dengta City, Liaoning Province] Eleven Practitioners Detained

Ms. Guo Zhenju, Mr. Li Xuepin, Ms. Zhao Xiuyan, Mr. Wang Qingzhong, Ms. Hong Xiuyan, Mr. Gao Hui, Ms. Li Yarong, Ms. Zhang Xueyan, Ms. Zhu Shuping, Mr. Liu Xingbao, and Ms. Xin Xiuqing were arrested on July 14 2014, and taken to the Liaoyang Detention Center.

11. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Junlan Detained

Ms. Zhang Junlan from Yaxi Town in Rongcheng was arrested by officers from the Yaxi Police Station when she was working her farmland on October 10, 2014. They also confiscated Falun Gong books, copies of Minghui Weekly, and other items from her home. Ms. Zhang was being held in the Rongcheng Detention Center for 15 days.

Police officers barged into Ms. Chen Cuizhen's home and arrested her on October 14, 2014.

13. [Nanling County, Anhui Province] Ms. Ma Xiaohua Detained

Ms. Ma Xiaohua was arrested by Zhu Yilin, Quan Xunhua, and other officers from Nanling Domestic Security on July 13, 2014. She is being held in the Wuhu Detention Center.

14. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Ms. Jiang Yuzhi and Ms. Jiang Yulan Arrested

Officers from the local police station broke a window, entered Ms. Jiang Yuzhi's home, and arrested her and her sister Ms. Jiang Yulan, who was visiting her, on September 12, 2014. Both sisters were taken to the local police station that evening and later to a brainwashing center located at the Fenjin Drug Rehabilitation Center in Changchun.
