(Minghui.org) Waving Chinese flags, a pro-CCP group attacked Falun Gong practitioners during the 2014 G20 Summit in Sydney on November 19, 2014.

Falun Gong practitioners had been granted a permit to protest the 15-year-long, ongoing persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), while its leaders attended the summit. That afternoon, the peaceful protestors were pushed down and their banners snatched away by a pro-CCP group. A female practitioner was brutally knocked down to the ground into the path of an oncoming bus. An AAP reporter witnessed the incident, and uploaded his recordings and photos to a media platform.

Attack Planned

Falun Gong practitioners were holding two banners at 200 George Street, at around 5:00 p.m., when they were attacked. The pro-CCP group pushed them away and grabbed their banners. Practitioner Ms. Lin Li was knocked down to the ground by a red shirted member of the pro-CCP group, and an approaching bus almost ran over her. It stopped a few meters from where she lay.

John Deller, a local resident and Falun Gong practitioner, was in the area after work. While he was holding a banner, an red-shirted man jammed his elbow into John's hands, attempting to force him to drop the banner. John continued holding on to the banner. After a few minutes' struggle, CCP officials arrived. They asked the police to relocate the Falun Gong practitioners. Then the pro-CCP group took the spot that the Falun Gong practitioners held a permit for.

CCP Exports Its Violence to Australia

Falun Gong practitioners expose the CCP's persecution in front of the Chinese delegation's hotel.

Falun Gong practitioners took this opportunity to call for attention to the ongoing persecution in China. Mr. Deller said, “There were a lot of people passing by on busy George Street, as well as hundreds of Chinese organized by the Chinese consulate, so it was a good opportunity to explain the truth about Falun Dafa and the persecution.”

This public attack by the pro-CCP group on a Sydney street was troubling. Ms. Lin Li told the reporter, “I was shocked by their attack. As an Australian citizen I enjoy freedom of speech and protection of human rights under the Australian Constitution. I didn't expect a group of attackers holding the CCP flag to knock me down on a street in Sydney... Anyone can tell from the recordings and pictures that some CCP official-looking people directed these attackers. It was a planned and organized attack.”

Australians Concerned

Ms. Margret Rice, subeditor for AAP, and a freelance journalist, was shocked to hear about the CCP's organ harvesting from living Falun Gong practitioners. She said, “I think that’s a gross violation of human rights. I think if people are imprisoned because they want to practice Falun Gong, and then they are prepared not to give their names, and that escalates to situation where they are not able to make a free decision about organ donation. That is morally wrong by anybody’s standards, anywhere in the world. I am deeply disturbed, very deeply disturbed by the practice of organ donation and the way its conducted in China. Often it is prisoners who are exploited for this and they have no rights, and there has been a lot of evidence for a long time that this has been happening. We need to do something about it. China needs to do something about it, and the west, particularly Australia, needs to support those in China who object to this practice.”

As Falun Gong practitioners in Australia continue to expose the CCP's persecution, many Australians are showing their support and have helped practitioners spread the information. During the G20 Summit, several Australians joined the practitioners' rally and parade, and helped distribute flyers and hold banners.

The pro-CCP group's attack has once again revealed the CCP's nature. Dozens of Chinese students and Chinese Australians have chosen not to get involved in blocking Falun Gong protest. They have instead chosen to quit the CCP and other Communist organizations.
