After nine years of imprisonment, Falun Gong practitioner Mr. Cong Ming was arrested on April 23, 2014. The Shenhe District Prosecutor's Office issued his arrest warrant just last month.

Mr. Cong was ambushed by ten plainclothes agents on his way home on April 23, 2014, and interrogated non-stop for two days. He was brutally beaten and deprived of food and sleep. His car, bank card, and cash were all confiscated.

Mr. Cong has now been held in the Shenyang No. 1 Detention Center for over six months.

Shenhe District Police Subdivision and the Shenhe District Prosecutor's office are attempting to frame Mr. Cong and practitioners Guo Hongyan, Zhong Yanchun, and others with false accusations.

Mr. Cong's twin brother and their sister have demanded his release many times, but the police and the prosecutors have ignored them. Arrested for petitioning on his brother's behalf, Mr. Cong was released a month later.

Mr. Cong Ming

Mr. Cong Ming and his brother Cong Liang were born in 1978. They both began practicing Falun Gong in 1996. They lived by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance in their daily lives. Impressed with their improvement, their mother also took up the practice in 2007.

Cong Ming was arrested in May of 2001 and later sentenced to nine years in prison. He was initially held in Wafangdian Prison in Dalian and then transferred to Nanguanling Prison in 2007.

He was brutally tortures while in prison – the guards once shackled his ankles to a floor ring and kept him handcuffed for over 3 months.

Cong Ming was released nine years later, in 2010, to an empty home: his parents had passed away and his twin brother was still in prison. However, the grief, loss, and suffering did not destroy him, and he became ever more firm in his belief. He kept a positive attitude and worked hard to create a better situation for himself and his twin brother.

They were finally reunited in 2012.

Twin Brother Mr. Cong Liang

Cong Liang began practicing Falun Gong with his brother in 1996. While trying to evade arrest in July 2001, he jumped from the sixth floor of a building and suffered serious injuries, with multiple fractures throughout his body. He remained in a coma for over 11 days. He later recovered by doing the Falun Gong exercises.

Cong Liang was arrested on August 10, 2008, and sentenced to four and a half years in prison in the Dadong District Court.

Parents Pass Away Amidst Turmoil

Overcome with grief over the unjust torture of his sons, their father lived in a state of constant depression, which weakened his health. He died from a sudden heart attack in 2002.

Cong Liang was arrested shortly after Cong Ming, and the police stationed in their home attempted to ambush more practitioners. Their mother, Ms. Ma Shuyun, was forced out of her own home by Changan Police Station officers and had to rent a small room without heating or cooling. She died on October 29, 2008. Cong Liang's court date was also the date of her funeral, so no family members were able to attend his trial.

Now, only two years after the brothers' reunion, they are being persecuted once again.
