(Minghui.org) My father lost his appetite this past July, and his weight fell. He said that if he ate even just a little, his stomach felt full. My sister took him to the hospital. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer and was told he needed to have surgery right away.
My mother and I both practice Falun Dafa. When we heard what the doctor said, we both thought that maybe this was an opportunity for him to start practicing.
The founder of Falun Dafa, Master Li Hongzhi, said, “But there’s one thing: you cultivate a true teaching, so when one person cultivates, others benefit.” (Zhuan Falun)
Ever since the persecution of Falun Dafa started in July 1999, my father has always stood by my mother and me. He has a positive view of Dafa.
I said to my father, “Dad, do you remember what you said in 1999? You said that, once you retired, you would start practicing Falun Dafa. You have been retired for five years, yet you still work for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Before you retired, you felt like you had no choice because you needed to support the family. Now that you've returned to work, aren't you just helping the CCP?”
I had said as much to him multiple times in the past, but he'd always brushed it aside with various excuses. This time the situation was different. My mother and I encouraged him: “Practice Dafa and validate Dafa. Let a miracle happen and save sentient beings.”
My father asked to be released from the hospital, came home, and started practicing Falun Dafa.
My father studied the Dafa books and did the exercises every day. Our relatives were very worried at first and didn't believe that, just by practicing, a disease that even modern medicine could not cure would disappear. We felt a lot of resistance when they talked to us. Nevertheless, my father had righteous thoughts and believed in Master. He positioned himself well at this critical time.
Several days later, my father went to the hospital and had another gastroscopy. The doctor compared the result with the earlier one and told him, “I recommend another gastroscopy since these two results are completely different. There are no cancer cells, and I cannot explain it.”
Indeed, the Buddha Law is extraordinary. It is beyond the science of mankind and cannot be figured out with human thinking. Now my relatives no longer object to my father's choice.
It is indeed as Master said, “Buddha’s light shines everywhere, propriety and righteousness harmonize everything.” (Zhuan Falun)
