Forced to Leave Home, Shandong Province Practitioner Arrested While Visiting Family

(Minghui.org) Ms. Yu Jingtao, 45, moved to Yantai City three years ago to avoid harassment from the police. She returned home to Rushan to visit her family in early October and was immediately arrested.

The police broke into her home on October 6 and confiscated her cellphone, printer, and other Falun Gong related materials. Her father's bicycle was also taken away. Without notifying her family, the police took Ms. Yu to Rushan Detention Center.

Ms. Yu has been forced to live away from home for almost ten years. While she was staying in Yantai City in 2006, her husband divorced her. She was arrested and sentenced to three years of imprisonment for distributing truth clarifying materials about Falun Gong later that year.

During her detention at Zibo City No. 2 Women's Prison, the guards locked her in a solitary confinement cell. In an attempt to force her to renounce her belief in Falun Gong, they tortured, beat, and tried to brainwash her.

Ms. Yu returned home in 2009 and soon discovered that the police were monitoring her. She left home again and found a job in Yantai and rarely returned for a visit.
