Additional Persecution News from China – December 20, 2013 (17 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents about persecution that took place in 15 cities or counties in 8 provinces. In this report, 9 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 17 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Long Shufen Sentenced to Three and a Half Years in Prison

Ms. Long Shufen from the Dadong District in Shenyang City was arrested on September 20, 2013. She has recently been sentenced to three and a half years in prison. Family visits are not allowed.

2. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Ge Chunling Transferred to Taiyuan City Detention Center

According to information received on December 15, 2013, Ms. Ge Chunling, who was held in Shanxi Provincial Women's Prison, was extremely weak and short of breath, had palpitations, and was too weak to walk. The Shanxi Prison authorities did not want to take the blame and transferred Ms. Ge back to the Taiyuan City Detention Center.

3. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wu Lijun's Sentence Sustained

Ms. Wu Lijun from the Hulan District, Harbin City, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. The sentence was sustained by the Hulan District Court, according to information received on December 18, 2013.

4. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Yanjie and Three Other Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wang Hua, Ms. Liu Yanjie, and two other practitioners from Weiziyu Township in Xinbin County were arrested by officers from the local police station on December 19, 2013, because they distributed informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong in Zhaojia Village, Pingdingshan Town. The four practitioners were taken to the Xinbin County Police Department.

5. [Luancheng County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yan Ruimin Detained

Ms. Yan Ruimin is currently being held in the Shijiazhuang No. 2 Detention Center.

6. [Beijing] Mr. Liu Shengping Arrested

Mr. Liu Shengping was arrested on the morning of December 17, 2013, for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong. Officers from the Fuchengmen Police Station in Xicheng District searched his house and confiscated materials about Falun Gong and other items.

Mr. Liu has been taken to forced labor camps twice andwas once sentenced to prison. This is the fourth time that he has been arrested.

7. [Kunshan City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xia Guiling Arrested

Five to six officers from the Chengzhong Police Station and 610 Office barged into Ms. Xia Guiling's house, searched it, and confiscated Falun Gong books, informational DVDs about Falun Gong, and other items on December 16, 2013. Ms. Xia was not at home then, and her husband was shocked.

Five officers from the Chengzhong Police Station barged into Ms. Xia's house again and arrested her on the morning of December 18, 2013. She was taken to the Kunshan Detention Center.

This is the third time that the police have ransacked Ms. Xia's house and arrested her.

8. [Dingxing County, Hebei Province] Information about the Persecution of Ms. Jiang Sulan

Wang Yong and four other officers from the Beitian Township Police Station in Dingxing County barged into Ms. Jiang Sulan's house in Beitian Village on the morning of December 17, 2017. Without presenting any documents, they rummaged through her belongings, confiscated a few Falun Gong books, a DVD player, calendars, and a few hundred yuan. Ms. Jiang managed to escape.

According to a source, Ms. Jiang's son, Mr. Zhang Yuhua, was arrested by officers from the Baigou Town, Xincheng County. His whereabouts is unknown.

9. [Hunchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Guixia and Ms. Li Xilian Arrested

Ms. Xu Guixia and Ms. Li Xilian were arrested by Han Yongnan and two to three other officers from the Yingan Police Station for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in a rural area on November 13, 2013. Ms. Xu and Ms. Li were handcuffed, pushed into a police vehicle, taken to the police station, and searched. They were released after being held in a detention center for six days.

10. [Tianjin] Ms. Duan Yongxia Arrested

Ms. Duan Yongxia was arrested by officers from the Dagang District Domestic Security Division on the evening of December 17, 2013. Her house was ransacked.

11. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Haiyan and Ms. Li Guiyu Arrested

Ms. Zhao Haiyan and Ms. Li Guiyu from Dalaoyu Village, Xindianzi Town, Zunhua City, were arrested by officers from the Xindianzi Town Police Station because they distributed calendars and booklets about Falun Gong in a farmer's market on December 19, 2013. They were both taken to the Zunhua Brainwashing Center.

12. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Zhang Yabin and Daughter Ms. Yi Xiaoqin Arrested

Liu Miao and other officers from the Shenyang Police Department, Huanggu District Branch, arrested Ms. Zhang Yabin and her daughter, Ms. Yi Xiaoqin, at home in the Kongque Residential Quarters, Santaizi, the Huanggu District, on the afternoon of December 17, 2013. The police took photographs of a calendar, Falun Gong books, papers, discs and other belongings. They confiscated five printers, over 10 boxes of paper, 3 boxes of DVDs, over 10,000 yuan with information about Falun Gong written on them, 2-hole punches, 7 boxes of calendars with information about Falun Gong, 1 DVD burner, 2 cellphones, 1 phone card, 3 to 4 boxes of black ink, 2 laptops, and other items.

Ms. Zhang and her daughter were taken to the Zaohua Town Detention Center in Shenyang City.

13. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yan Xiaozhuan and Ms. Han Xiurong Arrested

Mr. Yan Xiaozhuan was arrested at Ms. Han Xiurong's home on December 18, 2013. The police confiscated a printer, a computer, discs, printing papers, over 100,000 yuan in cash, and more. Ms. Han Xiurong was taken to a detention center.

14. [Bazhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zheng Qiuyan and Her Husband Arrested, Now Released

Ms. Zheng Qiuyan and her husband, Mr. Gao Tiejun, were both arrested at home by officers from the Bazhou City Police Department, Domestic Security Division on the morning of December 17, 2013. Police officers confiscated a music box and other belongings. The couple was taken to the Domestic Security Division. Due to Ms. Zheng's blood pressure measuring at over 200, they had to release the couple that evening.

15. [Urumqi City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Ms. Zhang Xiaoping Arrested

Ms. Zhang Xiaoping, 49, was arrested by a plainclothes officer for talking to people about Falun Dafa on December 13, 2013. She was taken to the Tianshan Police Department Branch. Ms. Zhang is now being held in the Shuimogou Detention Center in Urumqi City.

16. [Laiyuan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Chen Hexiang Arrested and Fined

Ms. Chen Hexiang was arrested by Director Zhou Yanqing and other officers from the Yinfang Police Station, because she talked to people about Falun Gong in Shangxiatai Village, Yinfang Town. Officers beat her all the way to the police station. Ms. Chen was released after her family had 500 yuan extorted from them.

17. [Qingdao City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shao Shuxia and Another Practitioner Arrested

Ms. Shao Shuxia and another practitioner from Xinan in the Huangdao District were arrested by officers from the Xinan Police Station for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in the Xinan Market on December 12, 2013. They were taken to the Xinan Police Station and are still being held there.
