(Minghui.org) Xiong County police arrested a 70-year-old practitioner on December 17, 2013. They police also harassed and detained several non-practitioners, and searched for couplet scrolls and calendars that Falun Gong practitioners had made.

Officers from Xiaobu Village Police Station went to Mr. Han Hongzhi's home on December 17, 2013, to arrest him, but he was away at the time. Unable to find him, the police arrested his wife, Ms. Bai Ailou, instead. She was held in the police station for two days before being taken to the Baoding City Detention Center. The police also arrested several others and confiscated a pair of couplet scrolls worth over 20,000 yuan.

That same day, officers from the Xiong County Domestic Security Division and the Zhugezhuang Police Station arrested 70-year-old Ms. Bai Yun at her home. They then ransacked it, along with two of her neighbors' homes. One other couple was arrested and detained overnight. The police went back to the area the next day and harassed people there, claiming they were looking for Ms. Bai who had escaped.

Ms. Bai's arrest was organized by officials from the Shijiazhuan Police Department and was carried out by officers from the Domestic Security Division, special police officers, and various local police stations. They followed and monitored Ms. Bai for 10 days and installed closed circuit cameras near her home. Some people believe that this was another one of those incidents fostered by Zhou Benshun, Communist Party chief of Hubei Province and a close ally of Zhou Yongkang, the notorious former member of the Central Politburo Standing Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
