Additional Persecution News from China – January 8, 2014 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 5 provinces. According to this report, 6 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Liaoyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guan Suju Detained
2. [Hengren County, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained
3. [Yingkou, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
4. [Daying County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Shi Chunxue Detained
5. [Feshan, Guangdong Province] Ms. Deng Caijuan Detained

1. [Liaoyang, Liaoning Province] Ms. Guan Suju Detained

Domestic Security Division personnel including team leader Zhang Qicheng broke into Ms. Guan Suju's home on December 14, 2013, arrested her and ransacked her house. They confiscated her personal belongings including a computer, bank card, etc. Ms. Guan is held at Liaoyang City Detention Center.

2. [Hengren County, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

More than ten practitioners including Ms. Guo Liyan, Ms. Wang Renqiu, and Ms. Li Li were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on January 3, 2014. They took their Dafa books and informational materials about Falun Gong. Ms. Guo, Ms. Wang, and Ms. Li are being held at Benxi City Detention Center. Nobody knows the other practitioners' whereabouts.

3. [Yingkou, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Practitioners arrested on December 27, 2013 were given heavy sentences by Zhanqian District Court. Mr. Guo Yanda was sentenced to ten years of imprisonment, Mr. Wu Shiwei to five years, Mr. Ji Deguang to five years, and Ms. Jiao Guizhen to four years.

4. [Daying County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Shi Chunxue Detained

Ms. Shi Chunxue is in her 50s. When she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong at Wanfuqiao, Daying County, on the morning of January 5, 2014, she was arrested. She is now in Yongxing Town Detention Center.

5. [Feshan, Guangdong Province] Ms. Deng Caijuan Detained

Ms. Deng Caijuan was arrested close to a bus stop on December 20, 2013. She is being held in Nanhai Detention Center.

6. [Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province] Ms. Liu Mincong and Ms. Sun Gengsu Arrested

Ms. Liu Mincong and Ms. Sun Gengsu were arrested and taken to the police station when they clarified the truth in Wuji County on January 4, 2014. During the interrogation, Ms. Liu had a heart attack and was taken home by her family. Ms. Sun had 1,000 yuan extorted from her and was then released.

7. [Yanan, Shanxi Province] Ms. Jiang Yan and Ms. Liu Wei Detained

Ms. Jiang Yan and Ms. Liu Wei (both in their 50s) were arrested for distributing Shen Yun CDs on the afternoon of January 2, 2014. They are currently in Zhuanyaowan Detention Center.
