Actions of a Practitioner After Being Hit By a Car
(Minghui.org) I was on my way to a small market in a farming village to buy a knee brace for my son on the morning of October 18, 2013. I had just gotten on a major road when a red sedan hit my scooter from behind. I was thrown about 32 feet. It took a few minutes before I regained consciousness.
When I came to, I saw stars and felt bits of broken glass in my hair. I sincerely called out, “Teacher, save me!” I felt clearheaded right away, and I didn't feel any pain.
The driver was a young man. He jumped out of his car and helped me up. He said, "Auntie, you must be injured. Let me take you to a hospital." I refused his offer and told him that he could leave.
He responded, “I have hit you with my car. I am responsible for your injuries. I will not be a hit and run driver. I must take you to a hospital.”
I assured him that I was alright, as I practiced Falun Gong and my Teacher would protect me from harm. Our Teacher said, '[...] good or evil comes from a person’s spontaneous thought, and the thought at that moment can bring about different consequences.'” ( “Zhuan Falun”)
Then I said, “I am all right. I have faith in my Teacher and Falun Gong. You may leave now."
After reassuring him again that I was fine, he still wouldn't leave, so I said, “I hope that you will remember that Falun Gong is good. I will not blackmail you.”
He seemed so worried and even wanted to call the traffic police and report the accident. I kept assuring him that I would be fine. Instead of leaving he said, “You may feel all right now, but what if you start feeling pain later?”
That is when I finally noticed that my scooter was more than 32 feet away. It was totaled.
I said, “My scooter is damaged, and I won't be able to ride it home. Can you fix it?” He responded that the scooter was beyond repair and he offered to buy me a new one.
Accepting His Offer
Financially I'm not well off, so I took his offer and said, “I feel so embarrassed to accept your offer, but I really don't have any money to buy another scooter.”
I explained the reasons for accepting his offer. I said that my husband and I were in a forced labor camp because of practicing Falun Gong, and we had fallen on hard times. I explained further that if I was able to afford a new scooter, I would not be accepting his offer.
He asked me to get into his car and we could go look into getting another scooter. We went to his workplace first where he told his friends what had happened. They also agreed that I should be checked into a hospital.
I told everyone that I was fine. However it was important for me that they remembered that 'Falun Gong is good' and to not believe the lies the Communist regime has told about it.
I explained, “Our Teacher has taught us to be thoughtful of others and look within when we face troubles. How can I go to the hospital when I know I am fine? The hospital will only run a lot of unnecessary tests and charge you a lot of money if you tell them that I have been hit by a car. I assure you that I am fine.”
One of his friends said that he was lucky he ran into a nice lady. The young man responded, "She's more than a nice lady. I have met a divine being."
I could tell he was still shell-shocked because he said repeatedly, "Auntie, you are such a nice person."
Another of his friends commented, “I have heard before that Falun Gong teaches its practitioners to be kind, but I have never met a practitioner before. Now that I have met one, I do believe Falun Gong practitioners are good people.”
When they were convinced that I would not go to a hospital, they took me shopping for a new scooter. We discussed the matter back and forth until I finally told them that any scooter they would buy would be fine with me.
The young man told me that he would not allow the police to arrest me because I practiced Falun Gong, and I felt his sincerity.
I reassured him that I would be fine riding the scooter home on my own, and that he didn't have to worry about me.
I repeatedly thanked Teacher for saving my life on my way home. I can only show my gratitude by remaining diligent in my cultivation.
