(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 4 provinces. According to this report, 2 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Chongqing] Eight Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Zhengying was arrested at home by officers from the Guanyinyan Police Station in Wanzhou District on the morning of January 9, 2014. She was taken to the police station.

Seven practitioners, including Ms. Tan Dingyu, Ms. Wei Chibi, Ms. He Yifang, Ms. Li Fenger, Ms. Sun Jilan, Mr. Kwong Leung, and one other (name unknown), went to the police station to ask for Ms. Zhang's release on the morning of January 10, 2014. They were arrested and taken to the local police department.

2. [Dezhou City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Zhiqiang and Ms. Shan Arrested

Mr. Li Zhiqiang and Ms. Shan were arrested at a barber shop by officer Liu Dawei from the Decheng District Domestic Security Division at noon on January 9, 2014. Police ransacked their homes and confiscated three computers.

3. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Yang Guocheng and His Nephew Arrested

Mr. Yang Guocheng and his nephew Yang Zhi were arrested at Mr. Yang's home by three officers from the Wangchun Town Police Station on the afternoon of January 7, 2014. Yufu Village Communist Party secretary Liao Yuqin and director Xiao Yongfu participated in the arrest. Mr. Yang and his nephew were taken to the Wanchun Police Station.

4. [Beijing] Ms. Fu Xiuqin Detained

Ms. Fu Xiuqin was arrested on December 28, 2013, when she spoke to people about Falun Gong in the Houzhuangzi Park of Mentougou District. She was taken to the Dayu Police Station in Mentougou District and then transferred to the Fangshan Detention Center.

5. [Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Xu Xiaohai Arrested

Mr. Xu Xiaohai was arrested at home by agents from the 610 Office on the morning of January 9, 2014. The agents confiscated his printer and computers.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Long Haifeng and Ms. Du Xiangzhen Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Long Haifeng and Ms. Du Xiangzhen were arrested and taken to the Tongzhou District Brainwashing Center in December 2013.

8. [Liuyang City, Hunan Province] Four Practitioners Detained

Ms. Zhang Fengli, Ms. Zuo, Ms. Wu, and Ms. Zhang Guoying were arrested on January 9, 2014. They are being held at the Baixianqiao Detention Center in Liuyang City.

9. [Daying County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Shi Chunxue Detained

Ms. Shi Chunxue, in her 50s, was arrested on the morning of January 5, 2014, when she distributed information about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is being held at the Suining City Detention Center.
