(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 8 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 8 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Changhai Arrested

Mr. Wang Changhai was arrested on January 9, 2014.

2. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yu Bo Arrested

Mr. Yu Bo was arrested on the morning of January 11, 2014, for distributing informational booklets about the persecution of Falun Gong. Officers from the Xingong Police Station, including deputy director Liu Wei, made the arrest. Mr. Yu is being held at the police station.

3. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Cui Hongwen Detained

Mr. Cui Hongwen was arrested by officers from the Songyuan Police Department in December 2013 for distributing information about Falun Gong in Chaganhua Town. He is being held at the Qianguo County Detention Center.

4. [Shanghai] Ms. Li Dongmei Arrested

Ms. Li Dongmei was arrested on January 3, 2014, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

5. [Weihai City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Ho Ying, Mr. Gao Xiangdong, and Ms. Wang Xiuhua were arrested by officers from the Zhangcun Police Station on the afternoon of January 11, 2014, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They are being held at a detention center.

6. [Chongqing] Ms. Xia Dong and Ms. Yan Xiaoyue Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Xia Dong and Ms. Yan Xiaoyue were sentenced to 3.5 years in prison. Ms. Xia is being held at the Yongchuan Prison. Ms. Yan is being held at the Huayan Detention Center.

Mr. Xie Chengguo was sentenced to 3 years in prison on the morning of January 10, 2014.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Zhao Xingmei Arrested

Ms. Zhao Xingmei was arrested on the afternoon of January 10, 2014. Police ransacked her home.

9. [Ziyang City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Dong Yuying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Dong Yuying was arrested by officers from Jiading District in early 2013. She was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison by the Shanghai No. 2 Intermediate Court on October 29, 2013.

10. [Xinhua County, Hunan Province] Mr. Yang Qisheng Detained

Mr. Yang Qisheng was arrested by officers from the Fengjia Police Station on January 4, 2014, for talking to people about Falun Gong. He is being held at the Xinhua County Detention Center.

Officers from the Domestic Security Division of the Xinhua County Police Department ransacked Mr. Yang's home in the early morning of January 8, 2014. They confiscated his Falun Gong books, address books, and cell phone records.

11. [Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Luo Xiumei Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Luo Xiumei was arrested by officers from the Xilin District Domestic Security Division. She was sentenced to 6 years in prison.

12. [Lu County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Feng Deqiong Arrested

Ms. Feng Deqiong was arrested by plainclothes police on February 9, 2013, when she and another practitioner went to a market in Pilu Town. Ms. Feng was sent to the Naxi Detention Center in Luzhou, but released in the evening.

13. [Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhou Shuqing in Coma Due to Persecution

Ms. Zhou Shuqing was sentenced to 5 years in prison and incarcerated in the Heilongjiang Province Women's Prison for 18 months. Ms. Zhou became emaciated due to the mistreatment in the prison. She was taken to the No. 2 Hospital of Harbin Medical University in the beginning of 2014 and is now in a coma.
