(Minghui.org) The Minghui website recently reported that police in Hebei Province have arrested a large number of Falun Gong practitioners.

In addition to the arrests of over twenty practitioners in Shijiazhuang City on November 15, 2013, the city police department has established a special task force and deployed a large number of officers to arrest practitioners and ransack their homes in Shijiazhuang City and the surrounding areas, including Zhengding, Gaoyi, Xingtang, Zhao County, and Pingshan.

Officers have been told to investigate practitioners who are distributing calendars with information about Falun Gong on them. More than thirty practitioners have now been arrested, ten of whom are deemed key persons and are being severely dealt with. Many police officers have balked at the persecution of innocent people, which is being led primarily by Zhou Benshun.

Hebei Province Toes the Line

In fact, ever since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) came to power in China, the Hebei Provincial CCP Committee has been at the forefront in carrying out the Party's various movements to persecute its own people, including the “Three Anti Campaign,” the “Five Anti Campaign,” the “Four Cleansing Movement,” the Cultural Revolution, etc.

When the Party started to promote “maintaining social stability,” Hebei Province became the testing ground for the capital city of Beijing. This has resulted in its citizens having suffered even more.

Whenever the CCP holds its national conference, the National People's Congress, or the National Political Consultative Conference, constant surveillance, security checkpoints on the road, and mass arrests are commonplace in Hebei Province. The victims are usually Falun Gong practitioners and people who go to the appeals office to seek redress for an injustice. In the CCP bureaucracy, everyone is aware that of all the major cities and provinces, Hebei Province toes the line most closely.

Statistics

According to Minghui statistics, Hebei Province is second only to Heilongjiang Province in terms of the number of practitioner deaths. It is among the top four provinces with the highest number of arrests, detentions, forced labor camp sentences, and incarcerations of Falun Gong practitioners.

In Zhangjiakou City alone, for example, 83 practitioners have been persecuted to death; 164 have been illegally sentenced to prison terms (51 to terms over five years, 35 to five and seven years, 16 to over eight years, and the longest to 18 years); 310 have been sentenced to forced labor; 4,329 have been arrested (over 1,400 in 2000, over 600 in 2008, with female practitioners accounting for 72%); and 782 have been subjected to brainwashing. In addition, 1,026 practitioners have had their homes ransacked with 183 types of personal belongings confiscated. Funds extorted from practitioners and their families is valued at over 6.6 million yuan. Based on these numbers, over 50% of the Falun Gong practitioners in Zhangjiakou City have been deprived of their personal freedoms in one way or another.

Party Losing Credibility

The persecution of Falun Gong has incurred tremendous condemnation from all around the world, and over 150 million Chinese people have quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations. Multiple members of Jiang Zemin's political regime have been either arrested or stripped of their power. The CCP as a whole is facing extinction.

Last Ditch Effort

So why do Hebei Province authorities still dare to continue this human rights outrage? The answer lies with Zhou Benshun, Party secretary of Hebei Provincial Party Committee. He was previously a member of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Committee, the organization within the CCP that is responsible for the massive persecution. He has been actively participating in and at the forefront of the persecution. He is one of Zhou Yongkang's most trusted subordinates.

Zhou Benshun ordered the arrests and detentions in order to implicate the current CCP leadership in the crimes against Falun Gong with the expectation that he himself will then be exempt of any punishment. It was a last ditch effort.

The CCP personnel who have been participating in the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners should listen to their conscience, break away from the CCP, and stop committing crimes. Divine beings are compassionate and want to spare more lives. Rather than go down with the CCP, these people should stand on the side of justice and choose a bright future for themselves.
