(Minghui.org) Ms. Yu Rong is a Falun Gong practitioner from Weifang City, Shandong Province. She has been detained for more than 20 days.
The police station first told her family that she would be released within three days, then it was extended to one week, and then two weeks. So far, she has not been released and it has been almost three weeks.
Reported and Arrested
Ms. Yu Rong, Ms. Wang Xiaoyun, and Ms. Dai Zongzhen were reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong related calendars on December 6, 2013. They were arrested and taken to the Zhucheng City Development District Police Station.
They were transferred to the Weifang Detention Center on December 8.
The detention center refused to accept Ms. Wang or Ms. Dai due to their poor health. Ms. Yu has not been released.
According to internal sources, Ms. Yu was given blood tests and a physical before she was accepted by the detention center. The police kept spreading rumors that she was already released, trying to forestall her family's rescue efforts.
The police station confiscated Ms. Yu's car, which was worth about 60,000 yuan, claiming that it was used to commit a crime. Her family was not able to get it back after multiple requests.
Ms. Yu's parents are close to 80, and her child is about 10. Her arrest has devastated her family.
We hope international human rights organizations and whoever wants to see justice prevail, both inside and outside of China, help secure Ms. Yu's release.
