Additional Persecution News from China – January 4, 2014 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 14 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 practitioners were illegally arrested .

1. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Jinyu Detained
2. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Two Practitioners Sentenced

7. [Qujing City, Yunnan] Six Practitioners Arrested and Two Still Detained
8. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yuxia and Mr. Zhang Haiji Detained

1. [Benxi City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Jinyu Detained

Mr. Lu Jinyu was arrested at a fellow practitioner's home on December 30, 2013, by officers from the Xinbin County Domestic Security Division who are responsible for monitoring Falun Gong practitioners. He is being held at the Xinbin County Detention Center.

2. [Xinxiang City, Henan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Qu was arrested by officers from the Hongmen Police Station on December 31, 2013, and taken to the Xinxiang City Detention Center.

Ms. Zhang Aiqin and Ms. Ren were also arrested by officers from the police station on January 2, 2014, when they brought clothes for Ms. Qu. All of them are being held at the detention center.

3. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Mr. Lu Hualiang Arrested

Mr. Lu Hualiang was arrested by officers from the local Domestic Security Division on the morning of December 30, 2013. He was taken to the Hubei Province Brainwashing Center.

4. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Two Practitioners Sentenced

Mr. Chang Shi and Mr. Wang Kai were sentenced to three and a half-year and three-year prison terms, respectively, by the Fengman District Court in late November 2013. Mr. Chang was arrested and taken to the Jilin Prison on December 23, 2013.

5. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] A Dozen Practitioners Detained

A dozen practitioners were arrested on December 28, 2013, and are being held at the following detention centers:

Ms. Ma Xiaojuan and Ms Xiao Yanhong are being held at the Gangu Detention Center

Ms. Tang Qiong and Ms. Xia Yanling are being held at the Maiji District Detention Center

Ms. Li Cuifang, Mr. Zhu Jinghong, Mr. Li Yikui, Mr. Qiao Wencheng, Mr. Zhang Zhiming, and Mr. Wang Ming are being held at the Qinzhou District Detention Center.

6. [Hegang City, Heilongjiang Province] Three Practitioners Monitored

Ms. Xie Xianglan, Ms. Liu Shuhua, and Ms. Zhao were monitored by plainclothes officers at noon on January 3, 2014, when they were talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. Ms. Zhao was arrested and taken to the Judelu Police Station. The other two elderly practitioners' homes were ransacked by officers from the police station.

7. [Qujing City, Yunnan] Six Practitioners Arrested and Two Still Detained

Ms. Li Hongmei, Ms. Wang Ruilan, Ms. He Yunxian, Ms. Su Shuzhen, Ms. Zhan Shuzhen, and Ms. Su Xiuying were arrested on November 12, 2013. Ms. Li and Ms. Wang are still being held at the Qilin District Detention Center.

8. [Songyuan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yuxia and Mr. Zhang Haiji Detained

Ms. Wang Yuxia and her husband Mr. Zhang Haiji were arrested at home by officers from the Ningjiang District Domestic Security Division of the Songyuan City Police Department on December 30, 2013. Their home was ransacked. They are being held at the Shanyou Detention Center.
