(Minghui.org) Mr. Yu Longyuan, a Falun Gong practitioner from Xinjiang Autonomous Region, has been subjected to repeated persecution for his faith. His family has been left homeless. On May 24, 2012, Mr. Yu was unlawfully sent to a forced labor camp, losing all contact with his family.

Mr. Yu is a retiree from the Minfeng County Meteorological Bureau in Xinjiang. In November 2009, local police chief Li Xindin, along with local Political and Legal Affairs Committee head Xu Kaiqiang, forcibly occupied his home and suspended his pension.

As a result, his family of three became homeless. From that point on, they struggled to make ends meet by working odd jobs and had to temporarily relocate to Beijing.

On May 24, 2012, Mr. Yu was illegally arrested by officers from the Dongzhimen Police Station when he distributed informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong at the Dongzhimen subway station in Beijing. He was sentenced to two years of forced labor and sent to the Xinan Forced Labor camp in Beijing.

Mr. Yu was released from the labor camp early, on July 23, 2013, but was immediately sent back to Mingfeng County in Xinjiang, where he was placed on parole.

During his parole, he has been closely monitored by county officials. He has been placed in the housing provided by his former employer, Meteorological Bureau, and receives 300 yuan per month to cover living expenses.

Mr. Yu is not allowed to leave the county and is unable to contact his family. He has not had contact with his wife and son for over a year now.
