(Minghui.org) Recently, the politically motivated scientist He Zuoxiu slandered Falun Gong again in the media. He Zuoxiu has yet to make significant contributions to the academic community as a scientist. However, his most recent insinuations remind people of his previous slander against Falun Gong 14 years ago, which triggered the brutal and still-ongoing persecution of practitioners by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Albert Einstein said, “An autocratic system of coercion , in my opinion, soon degenerates . For force always attracts men of low morality .” Indeed, there were and are such men within academia in Communist China and under the totalitarian Nazi regime, including Johannes Stark and Philipp Lenard, who adhered to Nazism and jointly signed statements in support of Hitler. They then became the Nazi representatives in the field of physics. During the Nazi anti-Semitic “pseudo-science” political climate, Lenard published the infamous “Germanic Physics” which stated: “Science is determined by race and bloodline.” Lenard and Stark praised Hitler and denigrated Jews and those who believed in peace, and attacked and abused Einstein. They became fascists within academia and their names are permanently connected to the shameful Nazi regime.

He Zuoxiu Supports Maoist and Marxist Theories

He Zuoxiu is an equally shameful figure in China, although his academic achievements aren't even comparable with those of the Nazi physicists. He worked previously at the Central Propaganda Ministry, and was familiar with the academic philosophy of the “Department of Truth” and skillful in political propaganda and political purging. He is notorious for his misdeeds in his pursuit of power, good after promotion and personal gain.

During the Cultural Revolution, He Zuoxiu was responsible for the death of China's renowned architect Liang Sicheng because of the false political accusations he made against him. After the Cultural Revolution, He Zuoxiu turned his attention to attacking human science research, including the studies of Qigong and supernatural abilities, in the name of “anti-pseudoscience.” He was ridiculed within academia as “One who knows everything but physics.” His so-called research focused on “class nature in natural science.” One of his most important works is the theory of “layer sub-model,” for which he won an “honorable” title as member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the CPPCC (National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference). This theory identifies class structures such as “proletariat subclass,” “Mao subclass” and “advancement subclass,” and was subsequently mocked for “shining with theoretical brilliance of Marxism and Maoist thought.”

Entering the 21 st century, He Zuoxiu argued that the theory of “Three Represents” (put forward by former CCP chief Jiang Zemin), and stating that the CCP has always represented, a) the developmental needs of China's advanced production capacity, b) the progressive direction of China's advanced culture, and c) the fundamental interests of the broad majority) aligned with the principles of quantum mechanics. He claimed that the principles of quantum mechanics verified that those in political power were the “incarnation of truth”—an incredibly ridiculous statement in China's contemporary age of science and technology.

He Zuoxiu's Role in the Persecution of Falun Gong

He Zuoxiu is widely known for his role in defaming Falun Gong, defamation so serious that it triggered a national crisis. The Falun Gong spiritual practice became very popular in China in the early 1990s, so popular that the communist regime, led by Jiang Zemin, decided to suppress it. Jiang Zemin made repeated attempts to defame Falun Gong, but without success. In order to provoke negative publicity, He Zuoxiu fabricated evidence to attack Falun Gong and to incite hatred, which then became the prologue of the nationwide persecution of Falun Gong.

In May 1998, under orders from his brother-in-law Luo Gan (then Minister of Public Security), He Zuoxiu slandered Falun Gong on BTV (Beijing TV Station) with fabricated allegations. More than a thousand practitioners went to BTV in order to clarify the truth and set the record straight with their personal experiences. The BTV leadership subsequently admitted that their actions were the most serious mistake they'd ever made, and rectified their position by reporting positively and fairly about Falun Gong. Those involved in this misconduct were suspended from their duties.

In April 1999, He Zuoxiu instigated another incident, utilizing the Science and Technology for Youth magazine published by the Tianjin Education Institute. He used the same false evidence (which had been clarified by BTV earlier) to slander and defame Falun Gong. Once again, practitioners went to the magazine's publishing house to clarify the facts and asked them to rectify this mistake. However, the Tianjin Police Department assigned anti-riot police to beat and arrest the practitioners. The publishing house, which had expressed its intention to correct its mistake earlier, suddenly changed its position, and with an uncompromising attitude, refused to admit any wrongdoing. Practitioners then went to the Tianjin Municipality Government to appeal for justice, where they were told that the Ministry of Public Security was now involved, and they therefore had to go to Beijing for resolution. These events were the basis for Falun Gong practitioners going to appeal in Beijing – the origin of the “April 25 Peaceful Appeal” – that sent a shockwave within and outside of China.

The Falun Gong practitioners' peaceful and rational appeal in Beijing was misrepresented as “besieging Zhongnanhai” (the Central Government compound). It was then used as an excuse by Jiang Zemin (then General Secretary of the CCP) and his followers to launch a brutal persecution of Falun Gong which has now lasted for 14 years. The relentless persecution had led to the suffering and breakup of countless families. Some practitioners have been tortured to death; others became physically or mentally disabled from the abuse. He Zuoxiu bears responsibility for each one of these tragedies.

He Zuoxiu continued with false representations. His argument that “qi” does not exist because it hasn't been detected by science is challenged by people on microblogs, with a statement from Qian Xuesen (a well-known scientist in China): “As for nature, there are still many phenomena that science cannot explain.” Qian Xuesen was very curious about human supernatural abilities, as was Einstein. They believed that such abilities do exist, but could not be explained.

He Zuoxiu attacked Falun Gong on similar grounds (that science cannot explain the phenomena experienced by cultivators so they must be false). Although Falun Gong was at first taught as a form of qigong, it is in fact a cultivation practice. Numerous people have recovered from illnesses, some terminal, through practicing Falun Gong. The principles of Falun Gong have even been demonstrated on the basis of true science. However, modern science cannot explain the profound nature of Falun Gong due to its current limitations and technology.

He Zuoxiu also stated that the principle of “belief” was “a superstitious, blind way of thinking,” and that as science advances, there will be fewer people holding a “belief” system. Actually, in scientifically advanced countries like the USA, many people possess deeply-rooted religious backgrounds, and also subscribe to the philosophies of many scholars, including famous physicists Newton and Maxwell. Their scientific research was also based on belief systems. Today, Falun Gong has spread to over 100 countries around the world, and many practitioners are professional scientists. He Zuoxiu knows these facts yet has chosen to spread falsehoods. His employer – the CCP – does not tolerate any belief systems other than communism. Furthermore, the Falun Gong principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance provide a stark contrast to the wicked nature of the CCP.

Professional scientists are humble and respectful towards natural systems. Einstein decided to resign from his position in the totalitarian Prussian Academy of Sciences and went into exile. Chinese scientist Qian Xuesen never made any negative accusations against Falun Gong, even though Jiang Zemin visited him on numerous occasions in attempts to make him criticize Falun Gong.

He Zuoxiu once said, “The Party (CCP) in the Chinese Academy of Sciences has a clear-cut stand supporting my side, and behind me is the Communist Party.” Today, the CCP is facing imminent demise and those responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong are currently being sued in international courts. He Zuoxiu's name is listed on the World Organization to Investigate the Persecution of Falun Gong website; the results are inevitable.
