(Minghui.org) Starting on August 31, 2013, Falun Gong practitioners in Spain held two days of truth-clarification activities in the city of Oviedo, which is both the administrative and financial center of the region, as well as one of the most renowned tourist destinations in the country.
Practitioners set up informational display boards, introduced Falun Gong to the public, and exposed the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) 14-year-long persecution of Falun Gong.

Crowds of people were visibly moved after reading the practitioners' display boards and immediately signed a petition condemning the Chinese Communist regime's practice of live organ harvesting.
Passersby also stopped to watch the practitioners demonstrate the five Dafa exercises, with some expressing a desire to learn the movements, right then and there.
A man pushed his wheelchair-bound mother in front of one of the display boards. After a practitioner approached them and explained a little about the persecution, he asked the son and mother if they would like to sign a petition to show their support. They both said no.
The son then took a flier and sat down on a bench nearby. Shortly after, he came back to the table and signed the petition. When the practitioner asked him if his mother wanted to sign the petition, too, he said: “My mother is disabled and can't write anymore.”
About 10 minutes later, he came back and asked for a petition form, saying that his mother had read over the flier and wanted to add her signature to the petition form, too.
A practitioner took the petition over to where the elderly woman was. She held the pen with her trembling hand and after about two minutes, managed to sign her name to the form.
A practitioner talked to a Chinese student about quitting the CCP and its affiliated organizations. “I am over 20 years old now,” replied the student. “I have automatically withdrawn from the Communist Youth League.”
The practitioner told him: “When people join the Communist Youth League or the Young Pioneers, they have to raise their right hand and vow to dedicate their whole lives to the Communist Party. That is to say, one pledges one's life to it.
“When Heaven destroys the Communist Party it will destroy anyone associated with it. Withdrawing from the Party and its affiliated organizations is the only way to ensure a bright future for yourself.” The man immediately agreed to quit the Young Pioneers.
An elderly Chinese couple told a practitioner: “What you are doing is great. China needs people like you. We watch NTDTV everyday. Everyone knows that the regime has done a lot of bad things.”
When a practitioner asked them if they had ever joined the CCP or any of its affiliated organizations, the husband replied: “Who would want to join it? We've never had a good impression of it and we've never believed anything that it says!”
Several practitioners visited a shopping area in Oviedo, where a lot of Chinese congregate. They went shop-to-shop handing out informational materials.
One store owner was delighted to receive a DVD of the Nine Commentaries on the Chinese Communist Party. “We watched this DVD before and we also watched it many times on NTDTV,” he said. “I love to watch NTDTV because I learn the truth behind the state-run CCTV news. I also learn a lot about the history and culture of China, things that we're not allowed to know about in China.”
When the topic shifted to how the Chinese Party had killed over 80 million people during its various political campaigns, the owner said angrily: “We learned about this from the Nine Commentaries. The Communist Party is rotten through and through. It definitely will not last long. It's just a matter of time before it collapses!”
When a practitioner had mentioned that the former president of China, Jiang Zemin, had given up Chinese claims on 1,600,000 square kilometers of Chinese territory to Russia, the man said: “If I had my say, he would be the first to die!” His shop assistant asked him why he wanted to see Jiang dead. “He is bad; Jiang Zemin is the worst!” he replied.
“The CCP viciously suppresses Christians in China,” said a Chinese shop owner whose whole family is Christian.
“The ancestor of the Communist Party was Karl Marx, a Satanist,” a practitioner told him. “The first sentence of the Communist Manifesto reads 'A Specter is haunting Europe—the specter of Communism.' When catastrophes begin to befall mankind in the future, God will definitely not protect a Satanist.
“If you want God to protect you, you must sever all ties with the Communist Party and its affiliated organizations.” The owner immediately agreed to quit the Young Pioneers, for himself, and his whole family. “Thank you for bringing this DVD and newspaper to us,” he said as the practitioners were leaving.
Following the two-day event, local practitioners held group exercises in a nearby park. Many people who they had talked to the day before, had come to join them.
“When I returned home from the event, I searched the Internet and read some articles about Falun Gong,” said a young woman. “I believe this is a great cultivation method that improves one's body and mind. So today, I specifically came to the park to learn Falun Gong!”
