(Minghui.org) When I saw “Call for Articles for the 10th China Fahui” on Minghui.org, I thought this was a great opportunity for practitioners in mainland China to report to Master our cultivation experiences while validating the Fa.
I wrote my own experience sharing article and also helped other practitioners (especially the elderly) finish their articles. We write down our experiences to let Master know how we are doing and to demonstrate Dafa's mighty virtue to the world. Here I would like to share my own experience in helping fellow practitioners write their articles.
Seeing a Need
While participating in a citywide truth clarification project, I met a fellow practitioner I hadn't seen for years and listened to her touching stories. We talked about the upcoming online Fahui (experience sharing conference). She hadn't thought of submitting an article since she had little education and had difficulty writing.
I told her, “I can help. You only need to tell me what you want to share and I'll do the rest.” She agreed and said it is time to report to Master. I asked her to reflect and decide what she wanted to talk about and I would visit her the next day.
The Nuts and Bolts
The next morning I set off after joining the global sending righteous thoughts at 6 a.m. Since I live diagonally across the city from her, in order to save time I didn't eat breakfast. It took me two hours and several bus rides to reach her home.
I used an MP3 to record as she talked about her experiences in validating the Fa. I asked her to clarify whenever something was not clear. Since it was the first time I'd ever done this and I had no experience, I recorded everything from beginning to end, which was about three hours.
After I got home and began working on the article, I realized I couldn't just listen once and then write down her whole experience. Instead I had to listen to a short part, write it down, and then listen to the next part.
After I restarted the computer, I had to listen for a long time before I found the place where I left off last time, which was was very time consuming. When I later recorded other practitioners' experiences, I saved each short section into a separate file, which saved time as I listened to their recordings.
Cultivating Myself in the Process
When I help practitioners finish their Fahui articles, I need to convey both the practitioners' original intention in writing and also do some editing to make the articles more vivid and readable. This is also a process of cultivating myself, and sometimes I have to overcome difficulties.
I need to repeatedly check with practitioners until they are satisfied that I did not exaggerate or change the original meaning of what they said. After I've finished working on an article, I ask the practitioner to read it through and suggest where it needs to be modified.
As I've worked on these articles, I've repeatedly been moved to tears by their deeds and their one hundred percent righteous faith and thoughts of Master and the Fa even in the face of death. When I compared myself to them, I saw a big gap in my belief in Master and the Fa.
Since the main body of Dafa practitioners is in China, Master has arranged for this cultivation sharing platform for us. The Fahui articles in previous years have all been wonderful and moving. Practitioners in China have experienced so many things while validating the Fa that we can learn from their articles. If practitioners who have writing or editing abilities take the initiative and help fellow practitioners finish writing Fahui articles, even more excellent Fa-validation experiences can be published on Minghui!
