Falun Gong Practitioner Ms. Fang Yu, an Engineer, in Critical Condition

(Minghui.org) Ms. Fang Yu from Tongling City, Anhui Province, was sentenced to a six and a half year prison term.

She was arrested on July 2, 2013, and is being tortured. She is unable to eat or drink due to the abuse. She has become emaciated and is in critical condition. Despite her deteriorating health, she was sentenced to a six and a half year prison term. She has appealed to the Tongling City Intermediate Court.

Ms. Fang Yu, 40, also known as A Lian, is a senior engineer, and formerly was a manager of the Tongling County Estate Investment Company, general manager of the Tongling County Investment Corporation, and manager of the Tongling County Supervision Company.

Ms. Fang's former colleagues had high regard for her and noticed that she always considered others' needs before her own. She was once a candidate for the deputy head of the county. While working in the investment corporation, she did not take any bribes and always lived by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Arrested Many Times and Held in a Brainwashing Center

Ms. Fang was arrested many times, held in a brainwashing center, and tortured because she refused to renounce Falun Gong and wanted to live according to Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

She was arrested around May 2009 and sentenced to a seven-year prison term because she exposed how Hong Wei, head of the Tongling County 610 Office, and officer Rong Jun, director of the local Domestic Security Division, persecuted local Falun Gong practitioners.

Her laptop, cell phone, bank credit card, and other items were confiscated.

She held a hunger strike to protest the persecution. She was subsequently tortured, which put her life at risk. Therefore, she was released.

Forced Into Homelessness to Escape Persecution

Ms. Fang moved to another city in July 2009 to escape the persecution. She worked as a nanny in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, for nearly a year. She was optimistic and kind.

She had not seen her family in four years. During those years, Chinese Communist Party (CCP) officials harassed her family frequently late at night.

Arrested Again

Ms. Fang was arrested in Gaoyao County, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, at around 5:00 p.m. on July 2, 2013. She was transferred back to Tongling City and held in the Tongling Detention Center.
