Additional Persecution News from China – September 2, 2013 (19 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 16 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 20 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenzhen, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wang Xiangyu and Ms. Zhong Yingchun Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Wang Xiangyu was recently sentenced to four years of imprisonment, and Ms. Zhong Yingchun to three years. Both practitioners are currently held at the Jiuwei Detention Center in Baoan District, Shenzhen City. To date, they have been detained for 17 months.

2. [Shuangyashan, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Peizeng Arrested

Mr. Zhang Peizeng was recently arrested.

3. [Qianan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Yang Kaijun Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Yang Kaijun was released from a brainwashing center on August 27, 2013, after being detained for two months. He was deceived and arrested again by officers from the provincial police department on the morning of August 30. His current whereabouts are unknown.

4. [Muling City, Heilongjiang] Ms. Li Shuqin Arrested

Ms. Li Shuqin was arrested on August 31, 2013. Agents from the Mudanjiang Political and Legal Affairs Committee made the arrest.

5. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Renguo Arrested

Mr. Wang Renguo was arrested at home on the morning of August 30, 2013. Officers from the Dalian City 610 Office, Shahekou District Police Department and Heishijiao Police Station made the arrest.

6. [Jinzhou, Liaoning] Mr. Yu Ming Arrested

Mr. Yu Ming was arrested in Jinzhou on the evening of August 29, 2013. Officers from the Jinzhou Police Department and Shenyang Domestic Security Division made the arrest. Mr. Yu was taken to Shenyang that night.

7. [Nanchang, Jiangxi Province] Three Elderly Practitioners Arrested

Three elderly practitioners were arrested by officers from the Jiangxi Agricultural University Police Station on August 31, 2013, while speaking to people about Falun Gong at the university.

8. [Jinchang, Gansu Province] Ms. Li Dexiang and Mr Duan Zhihu Detained

Ms. Li Dexiang and Mr. Duan Zhihu were arrested on the evening of August 28, 2013. Officers from the Longshou Police Department made the arrest and ransacked their home. The police confiscated their computer, Falun Gong brochures and other belongings. Both practitioners are currently held in the Jinchang City Detention Center.

9. [Beijing] Nine Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhang Mingxia, Mr. Yan Feng, Ms. Lin Fuhua and Mr. Da Bao were arrested on May 16, 2013, when they went to the Shisanling area in Changping to remove display boards hung by the authorities to slander Falun Gong. They were sent to the Liucun Detention Center in Changping and have since been transferred to the Beijing No. 1 Detention Center.

Five other practitioners were arrested at the same time.

10. [Boli County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Wang Yue Held in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Wang Yue is being held in the Hegang Brainwashing Center.

11. [Dongying, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Ling Arrested

Ms. Chen Ling was arrested by officers from the Shanghe County Police Department on the afternoon of September 1, 2013, while giving out brochures about Falun Gong.

12. [Dalian, Liaoning] Ms. Ma Dongmei Arrested; Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Ma Dongmei from Ma Lanzi, Sha District, was arrested on the afternoon of August 31, 2013. Police ransacked her home and confiscated two computers, two printers, a cell phone, Falun Gong books and other belongings. Ms. Ma's current whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Tianjin] Ms. Han Cuiling Detained

Ms. Han Cuiling was followed by police for paying attention to the trial of a fellow practitioner, Ms. Zhu Guixiang, who is 76 years old. Police then arrested Ms. Han on July 17, 2013, and ransacked her home. She is being held in the Hexi Police Department's detention center.

14. [Hengshui, Hebei Province] Two Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Li Suzhen and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Hengshui Police Department on the morning of September 1, 2013, while telling people about the persecution. Police ransacked her home and confiscated her computer, printer, Falun Gong books and the portrait the founder of Falun Gong.

15. [Jinyun County, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Lou Weili Arrested

Ms. Lou Weili was arrested by officers from the Dongcheng Police Station on July 8, 2013. Around August 2, her arrest was authorized by the Yongkang City Procuratorate.

16. [Tianjin] Mr. Li Yuanyong Arrested

Mr. Li Yuanyong was arrested on the morning of August 30, 2013, for telling people about Falun Gong.

Mr. Li was previously detained and sent to forced labor camps many times. In 2004, he was sentenced to six years in prison; he was released in 2010.

17. [Changsha, Hunan Province] Ms. Deng Qinghui Harassed

Four agents came to Ms. Deng Qinghui's house on the afternoon of September 1, 2013, and attempted to arrest her. She did not open the door. Later, at least a dozen agents from the Chaoyang Police Station and Chaoyang Street Neighborhood Committee came to harass her. She refused to open the door, and they eventually left.

18. [Dawa County, Liaoning Province] Four Practitioners Harassed

From July 20 to August 23, 2013, police officer Fu Zhenguo from the Dawa County Domestic Security Division and head of the Wangjia Police Station (surname Di) took turns going to Ms. Gao Jie's house to harass her.

Practitioners Ms. Liu Yulan, Ms. Zhang Kun and Ms. Guo Bo were also harassed by the Dawa County Domestic Security Division, Police Department and Neighborhood Committee.

19. [Jilin City, Jilin Province] Mr. Li Leyou Tortured in Jilin Prison

In the first half of 2012, Mr. Li Leyou was detained in the Intermediate Education Division of Jilin Prison. He was forced to sit in the “meditation position,” with two legs crossed on top of each other, for seven hours continuously by criminal inmates, including Wang Zhanwu, who was imprisoned for burglary.

Wang Zhanwu and other inmates held Mr. Li's body so that he could not move. As a result of the physical abuse, Mr. Li's legs were crippled for several months. He has also acquired tuberculosis.
