Retired Teacher Sentenced Without Due Process

(Minghui.org) Ms. Fu Junguang, a 68-year-old retired teacher from the Dadukou District of Chongqing City, was arrested and detained for over three months before being sentenced to a three-year term without due process. She is still illegally detained at the Dadukou District Detention Center.

At around 9 a.m. on April 22, 2013, Ms. Fu was arrested by Liu Guangjing from the local 610 Office when she was seen talking to people about Falun Gong near the Dadukou District Police Department. A female agent then took Ms. Fu to the Dadukou Detention Center.

Ms. Fu's sister once visited the Dadukou District Police Department to ask to see her. The guard did not allow her to enter, so she shouted out for Liu Guangjing to come and see her. But Liu did not come out. Instead, the head of the domestic security division, Lai Guohua, came and said harshly: “We will follow procedures when we deal with your sister.” Then he went back inside.

On July 31, Ms. Fu's family members were informed that Ms. Fu had been sentenced to a three-year term. However, they were never informed of anything beforehand, such as the entire process of the prosecution, court trial date and sentencing procedure. As no due process was ever performed.

Ms. Fu Junguang is a retired teacher from the No. 37 Middle School in Chongqing, and has been detained many times since the persecution began on July 20, 1999, by Lai Guohua and Liu Guangjing.

In January 2009, Ms. Fu was sentenced to a year in the Chongqing Women's Labor Camp and was tortured.

Ms. Fu's husband is very ill and needs his wife to look after him.

Lai Guohua and Liu Guangjing have been responsible for the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners such as Li Hongfu, Li Dongming and Zhong Zhiling. Lai and Liu are still wantonly partaking in the persecution and violating the law under the name of “maintaining stability.”
