(Minghui.org) Jinzhou City Court held a preliminary hearing for Falun Dafa practitioner Ms. Dai Huiying on July 16, 2013. The judge did not allow anyone except Ms. Dai's family to be present at the hearing. The family was not allowed to say anything.

The judge only asked a few questions, one of which was, “Do these DVDs and pamphlets belong to you?” Ms. Dai's informational materials about Falun Dafa had been confiscated at the time of her arrest.

Ms. Dai confirmed that these materials belonged to her and began to describe a bit about Falun Dafa. The judge immediately stopped her from speaking.

The hearing did not last long and was ended abruptly. Ms. Dai's family was told that the judge would determine Ms. Dai's sentence based on her “attitude.”

Background

Ms. Dai, 42, is from Xiaoqiao Village, Xiaqiao Town, Jinzhou City, Hebei Province. She was illegally arrested by officers from the Dongzhuosu Police Station while speaking to people about Falun Dafa. The officers confiscated her informational materials and took her to the Shijiazhuang No. 2 Detention Center.

A village cadre ordered Ms. Dai to write a guarantee statement to renounce her belief, saying that if she did that, she would be released. Ms. Dai replied, “It is not wrong to be a good person and follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Tolerance [the guiding principles of Falun Dafa].”

Before she began practicing Falun Dafa, Ms. Dai was bad-tempered and depressed. Her health was poor and her legs were cold all year round. Her health and well-being improved a great deal after she started the practice. She also became nicer and felt more at peace.

Now, she has been imprisoned for her peaceful belief.
