(Minghui.org) Sixteen Falun Gong practitioners were transferred to Jilin Prison on August 12, 2013, and held in the so-called “Education Division.” The “Education Division” is part of the No. 10 Prison District of Jilin Prison (the district director is Sun Wen, formerly the warden of Jilin Prison).
There are over 60 Falun Gong practitioners held in Jilin Prison, nine of them in the Elder and Disabled District. The rest are held in the “Education Division.”
The “Education Division” has been dismantled and reorganized many times since first being established. It was reorganized again in February of this year by Wang Yuanchun, a prison guard seeking to promote himself. He contacted the Provincial 610 Office and reopened the “Education Division.”
The current warden is Geng Mingcai, who carries out the persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. Guard Wang Yuanchun is responsible for “transforming” practitioners.
No one in Jilin Prison is willing to do the actual crimes related to brainwashing and “transforming” practitioners. Wang Huanchun can only use newly-graduated officers, such as Xu Boyang, and others like him to carry out those despicable tasks. After Wang transferred 16 Falun Gong practitioners to the Education Division, he picked inmates who had previously participated in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners, and enticed them with the promise of sentence reductions if they would force Falun Gong practitioners to give up their belief.
