(Minghui.org) Mr. Liu Fengcheng, a farmer from Qixin Village, Yongheng Township, Boli County, Heilongjiang Province, was arrested over three months ago. Representatives from 16 families in Mr. Liu's village signed a letter attesting to the fact that “Mr. Liu Fengcheng is a good man” and requesting his release. Although the officials from the Heilongjiang Police Department verified the facts, they refused to release him and filed charges against him.

Mr. Liu, 43, used to have a severe lumbar injury and was unable to do any hard labor. After he began to practice Falun Gong, he miraculously recovered and was grateful to find answers in the teachings about the meaning of life.

Whenever someone needed help, he put aside his own work and went to help them. In the winter he shoveled snow on the road to school, and in summer when heavy rains washed away the roads, he walked in the water and carried the children across one by one.

When there was no work in the fields, he did painting jobs to make extra money. However, he often did not charge people when he saw that their financial situation was not good, or he would charge very little. He did good quality work and charged reasonable prices.

He was good to his parents and his handicapped brother. He loved his wife and two young children.

He was arrested in Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province, on March 29, 2013, while he was doing a job there. That same day, 12 other practitioners were arrested. They were: Mo Zhokui, Fei Shiqin, Zuo Zhenqi, Lu Fengyun, Chen Yan, Sun Wenfu, Xu Feng, Zhang Huijuan, Li Dapeng, Duan Shuyan, Jiang Lianying, and Meng Fanying. Their cases have been filed and they are awaiting trial.

After Mr. Liu's arrest, his family was in a bad financial situation, especially after the police extorted 15,000 yuan from them. They are now having a hard time making ends meet.
