Additional Persecution News form China – August 30, 2013 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in seven cities or counties in four provinces. In this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 11 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Twelve Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Luo Xiuying, 78, and her granddaughter Ms. Dai were arrested by five officers who barged into their home on the afternoon of August 23, 2013. Twelve practitioners in total were taken to the Wulihe Police Station and interrogated there. The homes of Ms. Luo Xiuying and Ms. Li Yingqin, 49, were ransacked on August 23. Ms. Gu Xiulan's home was ransacked the next day. The home of Ms. Zheng Shuping (48 years old) was ransacked on August 25.

Practitioners held in the Shenyang City Detention Center include Ms. Liu Yanhui, 62; Ms. Li Yingqin, Ms. Luo Xiuying, Ms. Li Yihong, 56; Ms. Zheng Shuping, Ms. Xu, 68.

2. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Guixiang, Ms. Qi Fengmin and Ms. Wang Fengxia Arrested

Ms. Li Guixiang, Ms. Qi Fengmin and Ms. Wang Fengxia from Daqing City were arrested when they were passing a security check on their way to Qiqihar City on August 26, 2013.

3. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wei Jun Taken to Brainwashing Center after Prison Term Ended

Ms. Wei Jun, a teacher at the Daqing City No. 65 Middle School, was sentenced to five years in prison. Her term was up on August 27, 2013. However, authorities from the Daqing City 610 Office and Harbin Women's Prison collaborated to take her to the Daqing City No. 721 Brainwashing Center that same day.

4. [Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Yumei Arrested

Director Yan Guozhi from the Datong Courthouse Criminal Division and others arrested Ms. Sun Yumei from Linyuan at her daughter's home on August 28, 2013. She was directly taken to the Harbin Women's Prison.

5. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Guo Yuezhen Detained

Ms. Guo Yuezhen from Xinshi Town, Baiyun District was arrested by officers from the Xinshi Town Police Station for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong on the morning of August 22, 2013. Her home was ransacked. Ms. Guo is being held in the Baiyun District Detention Center.

6. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Yuan Ying Arrested

On August 29, 2013, Ms. Yuan Ying from Paotai Town, Puwan New District was deceived by officers from the Potai Town Police Station who came to her workplace and convinced her to leave with them. Her whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Ms. Kong Ying and Ms. Li Ailing Arrested

Ms. Kong Ying and Ms. Li Ailing were arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on August 21, 2013.

8. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Long Shufen Detained

Ms. Long Shufen, 60, was arrested by officers from the Tawan Police Station in Huang'gu District for distributing Shen Yun performing arts DVDs on August 21, 2013. She is being held in the Zaohua Detention Center.

9. [Linyi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Hui Sent to Brainwashing Center

Agents from the Linshu County 610 Office sent Ms. Liu Hui to the Linyi City Brainwashing Center on August 26, 2013.

10. [Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Wang Shuqiang Arrested

Mr. Wang Shuqiang from Liuge Town, Hanchuan City, Hubei Province was detained at the Shenzhen City Customs office at the end of July, 2013, when he was returning from Hong Kong after a tour there. After being held there for ten days, he was transferred to Nanhu in Wuhan City.
