Additional Persecution News from China – July 13, 2013 (11 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from mainland China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 3 practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Laixi City, Shandong Province] Ms. Li Sumei Died as a Result of Persecution

After the Chinese communist regime initiated the persecution of Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, Ms. Li Sumei was threatened, harassed, and detained many times. She passed away on December 24, 2012, after enduring years of pressure and abuse.

2. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Li Shuxia, 70, Ms. Chen Rong, 62, and Ms. Guo, 54, were arrested by officers from the Beishi Police Station on July 4, 2013, while speaking to people about Falun Gong. The police ransacked their homes and sent them to the Shenyang No. 1 Detention Center.

3. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhao Yulan Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhao Yulan was arrested by local police on the evening of July 9, 2013. She was taken to the Baima Brainwashing Center.

4. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhao Chunyan and Mr. Gu Aimin Arrested

Ms. Zhao Chunyan was arrested by local police on July 11, 2013. Her computer and printer were confiscated.

Mr. Gu Aimin was arrested at home by officers from the local Domestic Security Division on July 11, 2013. His two cell phones were confiscated.

5. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Mr. Sun Yuqiang Imprisoned

Mr. Shun Yujiang, in his 70s, has been held in the Tangshan Jidong Prison for approximately one month. He went on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

6. [Dongying City, Shandong Province] Mr. Hao Jianguo Detained

Mr. Hao Jianguo was arrested by officers from the Shengtuo Police Station on July 8, 2013, while speaking to people about Falun Gong. He was taken to the Kenli Detention Center.

7. [Huanren County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Jiang Dexin Imprisoned

Mr. Jiang Dexin was arrested by local police and sent to the Dongling Prison on July 10, 2013.

8. [Shanghai] Mr. Deng Chenglian Detained

Mr. Deng Chenglian was arrested by officers from the Changning District Xinjing Police Station on the evening of July 10, 2013. He was taken to the Changning District Detention Center.

9. [Datong City, Shanxi Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

A dozen police officers, including Sun Wenlong from the 610 Office, ransacked Ms. Xiaogong's home and confiscated her computer, printer and disks on the morning of July 11, 2013.

They arrested Ms. Cui Yuping, Ms. Cui Yutao and Ms. Meili that afternoon.

Ms. Baobao was arrested downstairs by plainclothes officers around noon on July 12, 2013.

10. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Ms. Shi Lianying Arrested

Ms. Shi Lianying was arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division on July 10, 2013.

11. [Bairin Left Banner, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Jia Bin Sentenced to Five Years in Prison

Mr. Jia Bin was sentenced to five years in prison by the local court on June 6, 2013.
