Additional Persecution News from China – August 11, 2013 (13 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Nong'an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Yang Fengxian Arrested

Ms. Yang Fengxian, from Mahuadian Village, Bajilei Township, was arrested on the afternoon of August 10, 2013. The township's police station head Liu Feng led the arrest.

2. [Chongqing] Mr. Ning Wenyan Arrested; His Whereabouts Unknown

Mr. Ning Wenyan from Nantong City, Jiangsu Province, had stayed away from home for many years in order to avoid being arrested for practicing Falun Gong. His latest temporary residence was in the Yuzhong District of Chongqing.

Officers from the Nan'an District Domestic Security Division arrested him on September 7, 2012, and sent him back to his hometown in Nantong City in November 2012. No information about him has been received since.

3. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Mr. Qu Wei, Ms. Zhou Yuzhen and Ms. Wang Yanqiu were arrested on July 23, 2013, when they spoke with people about Falun Gong. Officers led by Li Meishan and Qin Shouzhi from the 610 Office of the Jinzhou City Police Department made the arrest and took the practitioners to the Jinzhou City Detention Center.

4. [Chengde City, Hebei Province] Ms. Kong Suge and Her Child Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Kong Suge, in her 40s, and her 8-year-old son were arrested at home on the afternoon of August 8, 2013. Officers from the Kuancheng County Domestic Security Division and officials from the Dashizhuzi Township Political and Legal Affairs Committee made the arrest.

Ms. Kong and her son were both sent to the Chengde City Brainwashing Center the same day.

5. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhang Xiurong Detained

Ms. Zhang Xiurong, 65, was arrested on the afternoon of August 8, 2013. Officers from the Huanggezhuang Police Station made the arrest. Ms. Zhang is currently held in the Fengnan District Detention Center.

6. [Gaozhou City, Guangdong Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wu Youqing, Ms. Zhou Daqiong and Ms. Hu Xiuhui, together with Ms. Li Qiao and Ms. Tian Juying from Xinyi City, were arrested on August 1, 2013, when they distributed informational materials about Falun Gong.

Ms. Zhou and Ms. Tian were released the same night.

Ms. Wu, Ms. Hu and Ms. Li were taken to the Xinyi City Detention Center. The three practitioners were transferred to the Daposhan Detention Center on the morning of August 10.

7. [Huangshi City, Hubei Province] Mr. Wang Xiangdong Held in Brainwashing Center

Wuhan City police arrested Mr. Wang Xiangdong and took him to the Yongqing Street Police Station on the evening of August 4, 2013. Mr. Wang is currently held in the Mahu Law Education Center, which is a brainwashing center.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Yang Xiaofeng Sent to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Yang Xiaofeng was recently arrested and taken to the Huyu Village Brainwashing Center in the Changping District.

9. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Mingke Sent to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhang Mingke was arrested at home on August 9, 2013, and taken directly to the Pingdong Brainwashing Center.

10. [Shihezi City, Xinjiang Autonomous Region] Mr. He Mingqiang and His Wife Sent to Brainwashing Center

Officers from the Shihezi Domestic Security Division arrested Mr. He Mingqiang and his wife Wang Yi on the evening of August 6, 2013. The couple was taken to a brainwashing center in Urumqi the next morning.

11. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Three Practitioners Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhang Sumei, Ms. Luo Meihua and Ms. Lei Ximei from the Qiaokou District were arrested on July 31, 2013. Officers from the Qiaokou District 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division made the arrest. The three practitioners are currently held in the Etouwan Brainwashing Center.

12. [Jintan City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Shi Juhong Detained

Ms. Shi Juhong was arrested on July 23, 2013. Officers from the Jintan City Domestic Security Division, the 610 Office and the Huacheng Police Station made the arrest. Ms. Shi was taken to the Xining Detention Center in Changzhou City.

13. [Shanghai] Ms. Cao Qiongzhi Detained

Ms. Cao Qiongzhi from the Putuo District was arrested at home in mid-June 2013. Officers from the Jiading District 610 Office and Fengbing Police Station made the arrest. Ms. Cao is currently held in the Putuo Detention Center.
