Additional Persecution News from China – August 9, 2013 (12 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 12 cities or counties in 7 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 18 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Jiutai City, Jilin Province] Mr. Guo Yanxiang Sent to Brainwashing Center

Agents from the Jiutai City 610 Office arrested Mr. Guo Yanxiang at the Shanghewan Town Center School and took him to the Changchun Brainwashing Center at the end of July 2013.

2. [Hui County, Gansu Province] Over 10 Practitioners Detained

Agents from the Hui County 610 Office detained over 10 practitioners on August 2, 2013, including Mr. Zhe Jingdong, official from the Hui County Local Tax Bureau; Ms. Yang Xuqin, teacher from the Hui County No.1 High School; and Mr. Zhao Jianrong, teacher from the Hui County No.4 High School. Mr. Zhe, Ms. Yang and Mr. Zhao are being held in the brainwashing center located in the Yuhua Hotel on Dong Street in Hui County. Other practitioners managed to get away.

3. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Song Dongmei Held in Brainwashing Center

Ms. Song Dongmei was detained for 13 days for distributing informational materials about Falun Gong in her hometown, Suzhou City. After she returned to Nanjing City, agents from the Nanjing City 610 Office took her to the brainwashing center run by the 610 Office. Ms. Song is on a hunger strike to protest the persecution.

4. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zheng Yuling Taken to Brainwashing Center

After being held in the Beishan Detention Center in Xuzhou City for a month, Ms. Zheng Yuling from Suining County was transferred to the Xinghua Brainwashing Center in Taixing City.

5. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Mr. Jiang Yihong Arrested

A group of police officers and other agents barged into Mr. Jiang Yihong's home in Baoan Village, Baiqi Town, and arrested him in the morning of August 8, 2013.

6. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Tian Yunfei Arrested

Mr. Tian Yunfei, 49, is an employee of the Jincheng Company of Xishan Coal & Electricity Group. He was arrested by plainclothes police from the Houbeitun Residential Quarters Office of the Wanbolin Police Department on the afternoon of August 7, 2013, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. He was taken to the Xinhua Residential Quarters Police Station. His home was also ransacked.

7. [Tongcheng County, Hubei Province] Ms. Dai Xianfeng Arrested

Officers from the Tongcheng County Police Department's Domestic Security Division arrested Ms. Dai Xiangfeng at the small store where she sold vegetables on the morning of August 7, 2013.

8. [Lianyungang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Xu Yiqing Detained

Mr. Xu Yiqing was arrested at his foot care clinic on August 7, 2013, by uniformed and plainclothes officers from the Xinnan Police Station and Xinpu Police Department's 610 Office and Domestic Security Division. His home was ransacked. Mr. Xu is being held in a detention center.

9. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ma Lijie Detained

Officers from the Xiaoshanzi Town Police Station, Wangchang City Domestic Security Division chief Bai Yunxiang, and others barged into Ms. Ma Lijie's home in Xiaoshanzi Town, Wuchang City, and arrested her on the morning of August 5, 2013. Her computer, printer and other items were confiscated. Ms. Ma is being held in the Harbin No.2 Detention Center.

10. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Mr. Guo Hongyan and Ms. Ren Shuxia Detained

Mr. Guo Hongyan and Ms. Ren Shuxia from Fulongquan Town were arrested by officers from the Fulongquan Town Police Station on the evening of August 6, 2013. They are being held in the Nongan County Detention Center.

11. [Heze City, Shandong Province] Ms. Deng Jiuyun Arrested

Ms. Deng Jiuyun was arrested by officers from the Yuechengzhuang Police Station for explaining the facts about Falun Gong outside the north entrance of Xinji.

12. [Qingzhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Gu Liangling Detained

Officers from the Qingzhou City Police Department's Domestic Security Division and the Dongguan Police Station arrested Ms. Gu Liangling from Suqiao Village, Zhaode Community, at the end of July 2013. Her home was ransacked and her computer, Falun Gong books and other items were confiscated. Ms. Gu is being held in the Weifang Detention Center.
