Additional Persecution News from China – August 5, 2013 (14 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 4 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 22 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shanghai] Ms. Lu Rongying Arrested

Ms. Lu Rongying from the Pudong area was recently arrested.

2. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Mr. Qu Bin Arrested

Mr. Qu Bin was arrested on August 2, 2013.

3. [Xinyi, Guangdong Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Local 610 Office agents arrested Ms. Li Xiao, Ms. Ya Qing, and Ms. Zhou on the morning of August 1, 2013.

4. [Zhuanghe, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Enping Held in Forced Labor Camp

Ms. Wang Enping was arrested in 2011 and has been held in the Dalian Forced Labor Camp. Her term was due to expire on July 19, 2013, but the labor camp officials still haven't released her.

5. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Xia Mingwei Detained

Mr. Xia Mingwei was arrested by officers from the Sihe Police Station on August 2, 2013, for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. He is currently held in the Xindi Detention Center.

6. [Zhongshan City, Guangdong Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Huang Xingyao, Ms. Chen Xiaoyue, Ms. Lu Weiwen, and Ms. Huang Xiaomei were arrested on the evening of July 22, 2013. Their homes were ransacked. Their computers, printers, CD-burners, and other personal belongings were confiscated. Ms. Lu and Ms. Huang Xiaomei were later released. The other two practitioners are still in a detention center.

7. [Nanjing, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Zhang Shuquan Held in Brainwashing Center

Mr. Zhang Shuquan, a retired employee of the Nanjing No.14 Research Institute, was arrested at home on July 25, 2013. He was sent to a brainwashing center.

8. [Xishui County, Guizhou Province] Ms. Ren Jialian and Ms. Gu Mingying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Ren Jialian and Ms. Gu Mingying were arrested in January 2013. They were held in police custody for two weeks before being transferred to the Xishui County Detention Center. Ms. Ren has been sentenced to five years in prison, and Ms. Gu to three years in prison.

9. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Sun Yuzhi, Ms. Shen Jinnu, and a practitioner whose name is unknown were arrested on the afternoon of August 2, 2013, when they spoke with people about Falun Gong on Yushu Street. Officers from the Peiying Police Station made the arrest and took them to a detention center for a term of 10 days.

10. [Hengyang City, Hunan Province] Mr. Wang Shengliang Arrested

Mr. Wang Shengliang from the city's Grain Transport Team was arrested on August 4, 2013, when he was hanging banners with messages about Falun Gong in Shaodong County. Officers from the Shizhuqiao Police Station made the arrest and took him to the Shaodong County Police Department.

11. [Wuxue City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Fan, in his 70s, Ms. Hu Lanzhen, in her 40s, Ms. Li Xinzhen, in her 60s, and Ms. Hu Julian, in her 60s, were arrested on August 1, 2013, when they went to Zhaojun Village to inform villagers about Falun Gong and the persecution. Mr. Fan was released, but the three other practitioners were taken to the Wuxue City Domestic Security Division.

12. [Pingyuan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Kou Yong Detained

Local police broke into the computer store run by Mr. Kou Yong on the morning of July 6, 2013. They arrested Mr. Kou and confiscated two computers. They took Mr. Kou to a detention center.

13. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Mr. Wang Shengbo and Ms. Deng Ximei Detained

Mr. Wang Shengbo, in his 50s, and Ms. Deng Ximei, in her 40s, from Ning Township were arrested on the evening of July 31, 2013, when they distributed informational materials about Falun Gong. Officers from the Yuchangping Town Police Station in the Yuelu District made the arrest and took them to the Changsha Detention Center.

14. [Mengzhou City, Henan Province] Ms. Dang Hua Detained

Ms. Dang Hua was recently arrested when she distributed informational materials about Falun Gong. Officers from the Domestic Security Division took her to the Jiaozuo City Detention Center.
