(Minghui.org) Ms. Song Chunyuan is a retiree from the Tahe Railroad. She has been arrested and detained several times, and is currently held in Harbin Women's Prison, where she has been brutally tortured.
Ms. Song was arrested by the head of Tahe Domestic Security Division Li Jun, deputy head of Tahe Domestic Security Division Shi Wei, and officers Li Xizhong, Han Degang, Yang Kai and Wang Guoyi from the Tahe police, and Li Yanguo from the Talin Police Station in April 2011. They ransacked her home and brutally beat her. On July 13, 2011, Ms. Song was sentenced to four years in Harbin Women's Prison.
Wu Dan, the daughter of Ms. Song, is not a practitioner, but she has also been subjected to persecution. She has been interrogated and threatened many times, arrested three times and detained twice. Her cell phone and home telephone have been tapped and monitored for a long time.
When Wu Dan went to bed at around 10 p.m. on July 8, 2012, she suddenly heard the neighbors shouting, “Open the door.” When she opened the door, the director of the community security, Shi Wei and other police burst in. Wu Dan was told to go to the Tahe Police Department. However, she refused and immediately called her cousin on her cellphone. Shi Wei forcibly took away Wu Dan's cellphone and house key. Then he and another four police dragged her to a police car, while she was still in her nightdress and slippers. She was taken to Tahe Police Department.
In a room in the backyard of Tahe police department, Li Jun and others interrogated and threatened Wu Dan continuously for 24 hours. Wu Dan cried out repeatedly. Li Jun told her that officials from the Judicial Bureau ordered the investigation of Ms. Song Chunyuan's family members in order to try and force Ms. Song to renounce her belief in Falun Gong.
Li Jun asked Wu Dan, “What do you do at home? Who are you in contact with? What's your opinion about your mom's belief?” Wu Dan refused to answer. In the end, the police wrote in their interrogation notes, “I (Wu Dan) must cooperate and get Song Chunyuan to renounce her belief.” Li Jun threatened Wu Dan again before he left. He said, “If the upper level authority says it's OK, we won't bother you again. Otherwise, we will keep coming to you.” Wu Dan was detained until the afternoon of July 9.
The police also monitored Wu Dan's friends and relatives who had contact with her. Wu Dan didn't want to bring trouble to them, so she stayed in her home and did not have contact with anyone for long periods of time. She lived a lonely and fearful life every day, and misses her mother very much.
The arrest and interrogation deeply affected Wu Dan both physically and mentally. When her friends or relatives went to see her, she would not open the door. When they tried to phone her, she either did not answer, or cried over the phone. She locked herself inside her room all day. Sometimes she only ate one meal a day, and sometimes she did not eat anything at all. When she saw the police or heard the sound of knocking on the door, she became very frightened.
Around July 10, 2013, Wu Dan suddenly fainted at her home and was not found by her friends until three or four days later. They climbed through the patio window into her home and noticed Wu Dan lying on the floor. They put her on the bed and tried to take care of her. During that period of time, Wu Dan did not eat or drink anything. Her distant relatives heard the news and came over. They saw Wu Dan, who used to be healthy, lying on the bed with pain around her waist, leg, back and shoulders. She could not move her body while lying down on the bed, and had to rely on her relatives to look after her. When there was no one attending to her, she would shout out in pain and fear.
After Ms. Song Chunyuan was arrested, practitioner Ms. Ma Qingyu saw Wu Dan living a difficult life alone, and so she voluntarily took care of Wu Dan. However, officers from the Tahe Police Department and Talin Police Station started to harass Ms. Ma and her family as well. The police monitored Ms. Ma's cellphone and home telephone. Ma Qingyu's family members also suffered from the persecution.

In July 16, 1975, when Ms. Song Chunyuan was 19 years old, she was involved in a major car accident which left her severely disabled with traumatic injuries to the brain, spine and kidneys. She was not able to take care of herself and had to totally rely on others. After Ms. Song began practicing Falun Gong, her body completely recovered. Falun Dafa saved her life and her broken family.
However, since the Chinese Communist Party began to persecute Falun Gong, Ms. Song has been arrested and sent to a forced labor camp twice over the last 14 years, simply because of practicing Falun Gong. She had money extorted from her and was forced to divorce. Her happy family was broken. Every time when Ms. Song was arrested, Wu Dan always worried about her mother’s life. She went to the police departments, police stations, detention centers, forced labor camps and prisons to visit her mom again and again. Wu Dan would bring fresh clothes to her mom and ask the police to release her. She was scolded and pushed by the police many times. In addition, the police frequently came to her home to harass and monitor her.
