(Minghui.org) Every political campaign launched by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has not only harmed numerous individuals, but has also resulted in countless family tragedies. The elderly have lost their care, children have lost educational opportunities and been forced to harm each other. During the rampant campaign against Falun Gong, the CCP has trumped up numerous false charges against practitioners, such as accusing them of preferring to go to jail rather than take care of their parents and children.
Governed under coercion by the CCP and brainwashed for decades, many common people and practitioners' relatives have lost the ability to distinguish right from wrong. They have been deceived to believe that their family tragedies were caused by practitioners, not by the corrupt regime that relentlessly persecutes them.
This has resulted in many people developing hatred for Falun Gong. The following represents a summary of the family tragedies endured by two Hunan Xiangtan practitioners: Mr. Yang Shiyi and Mr. Liu Liyan.
Mr. Yang Shiyi was imprisoned and tortured for eight years simply because he clarified the truth about Falun Gong to the general public.
Mr. Yang and Mr. Liu were delivering truth clarification materials in Daolin Village, Ningxiang District of Changsha on January 14, 2013. They were reported to the authorities and arrested by Ningxiang Public Security Bureau officers.
Ningxiang Domestic Security Division officials threatened Mr. Yang, stating that they'd reported his case to the Changsha 610 Office and provincial 610 Office. They claimed that they would sentence him to prison for several years.
Mr. Yang is currently being held in the Ningxiang District Detention Center, where prisoners are starved, bullied and forced to sleep on the concrete floor. “Head” prisoners can do anything they want to practitioners under the guards' orders. Numerous practitioners have been maltreated and tortured in these detention centers.
Background Mr. Yang is very dutiful at home, taking care of his 90 year-old mother and his son who suffers from psychological problems. He divorced before he started practicing Falun Gong and never remarried. He did menial labor in order to maintain their livelihood and cover the expenses of treating his son's psychosis. A person who practices Falun Gong truly benefits the whole family. Even though his son had psychological problems, he recovered after his father started practicing Falun Gong.
Following Mr. Yang's arrest, no one took care of his elderly, bedridden mother. His mother suffers from incontinence and needs someone to change her regularly. Mr. Yang's son is unemployed, and his family is now in a difficult situation after CCP officials illegally arrested him.
The CCP fabricated various claims and blamed all these family tragedies on Falun Gong practitioners, which subsequently incited the hatred of common people and practitioners' relatives towards them. Sixty two year-old Liu Liyan's family was victimized in this manner.
Mr. Liu is a rural farmer, earning his living by delivering products on his tricycle. He went to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong, and clarified the truth to people. As a result, he has been repeatedly persecuted by the CCP.
His wife and son believe the CCP's lies and have a very hostile attitude toward Falun Gong.
Both Mr. Liu and Mr. Yang were arrested and detained for 15 days. The Ningxiang Domestic Security Division refused to return his tricycle, preventing him from earning a living.
While being held at the Ningxiang Detention Center, Hutan Township Government, Yuhu District of Xiangtan officials told Mr. Liu's son, “Inform us immediately if your father comes back home.” Mr. Liu's wife and son agreed immediately and even asked the government to imprison him for several years.
After Mr. Liu returned home, his son and wife held him in the house and called the police to arrest him. Mr. Liu managed to escape, but he is an old and weak man. How and where can he live?
Numerous Falun Gong practitioners like Mr. Liu cannot go back home because of the persecution. It may be only when the CCP collapses that these practitioners can get back to their peaceful families.
