(Minghui.org) Numerous Falun Gong practitioners in China have been secretly and illegally tried in courts run by the Chinese communist regime. No legal procedures were followed, and their families and the public were not notified. Below is an example of the actions of one such court.
On November 28, 2012, Zhangchuan County Court in Tianshui City, Gansu Province, held a hearing for Ms. Li Wenwen and seven other Falun Gong practitioners. On December 20, 2012, the same court held another session to try Ms. Li Wenwen and four other practitioners. Officials of the court violated legal procedures and never sent any relevant notices to the families of these practitioners. The hearings were not announced or made public.
This court sentenced Mr. Xu Baoguo to 5 years in prison, Mr. Hong Xaolin to 4.5 years, Ms. Li Wenwen to 4 years, Mr. Hong Liang to 4 years and Mr. Ding Xijun to 3 years. Ms. Wenwen appealed to the Tianshui City Court, but her appeal was rejected.
According to informant reports, on March 5, 2013, officials took these practitioners to the Lanzhou Legal Center in Gansu City to be brainwashed.
The following are partial details about the five incarcerated Falun Gong practitioners:
Mr. Xu Baoguo, over 30 years old, from Dongguan Village, Longshan Town, Zhuangjiachuan County. He is currently held in the Zhangjiachuan County Detention Center.
Mr. Hong Xiaolin, 54, a doctor employed at the Zhuangjiachuang County People's Hospital No. 2. He is currently held in the Zhuangjiachuang County Detention Center.
Ms. Li Wenwen, over 40 years old, from Dongguan Village, Longshan Town, Zhangjiachuan County. She is currently incarcerated in the Maiji District Detention Center, Tianshui City.
Mr. Hong Liang, 47, a policeman from the Malu Police Station, Zhangjiachuan County Police Bureau. He is currently held in the Qingshui County Detention Center.
Mr. Ding Xijun, over 40 years old, employed at the Zhuangjiachuan County Radio Broadcasting Bureau. He is currently incarcerated in the Zhuangjiachuan County Detention Center.
Another practitioner sentenced by this court, Ms. Xu Dongmei, over 50 years old, from Dongguan Village, Longshan Town, Zhangjiachuan County, is currently held in the Maiji District Detention Center, Tianshui City.
