(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Guan Shujun in Harbin was deceived many times by police from Domestic Security Division in April 2012, and was sentenced to 18 months of forced labor. When her term ended, the forced labor camp tried to send her directly to a brainwashing center to continue to persecute her. Her family members demanded her release, but to avoid further persecution, she was forced to leave her home.

Arrest, Detention and Forced Labor, Deceived by Police

Ms. Guan is about 60. Police officers Wang Dianbin and Yuan Zhaoxiang from the Domestic Security Division of Xiangfang Branch in Harbin tricked Ms. Guan into opening her door by pretending to be checking gas meters on April 17, 2012. They deceived her further by saying that she would be let go after a short talk at the police station. Ms. Guan was then held in the No.2 Detention Center in Harbin. She was told she would be released after 15 days, but when her family member went to pick her up, Ms. Guan had been sent to a forced labor camp.

Forced Labor Camp Arrested Family Members, Withheld Lawyer's ID

When Ms. Guan's family and the attorney went to Qianjin Forced Labor Camp, they were arrested by the forced labor camp. The camp director confiscated the attorney's documents. The police injured her family members, then took them to Xinnong Police Station, where they were detained for about eight hours.

For the next four months, the forced labor camp refused to let her family visit her. Ms. Guan's husband alone was allowed to see her on September 16. Policeman Zhang Bo in the management section was one of her main persecutors.

Judge Refused to Handle Her Case Ms. Guan's family went to the Forced Labor Office at the Department of Justice in Heilongjiang Province and Harbin Municipal Government to discuss her case again in May 2012, asking that her sentence be overturned. They also sent the request to Daoli District Court. The materials were accepted, but no response was given.

Ms. Guan's family and the attorney went to sue Qianjin Forced Labor Camp on November 21 and 23 in Heilongjiang Supreme Court, Harbin Intermediate Court, Daoli District Court, and the municipal Procuratorate. However, none of these agencies took any action. In Daoli Court, they met with the administrative division chief judge. Judge Li Yanru from the filing court of Harbin Intermediate Court directly refused, saying she was unable to take care of it. Li Jingcai from Harbin municipal Procuratorate said on the phone that he could communicate with Wang Yaluo in the forced labor camp to allow Ms. Guan's daughter to visit her, but refused to respond on other issues.

Family Members Rescue Her from Being Sent to Brainwashing Center

On July 3, 2013, Qianjin Forced Labor Camp told Guan's family members that she would be released on July 8, but first they must get signatures and stamps from the 610 Office, police station, and community office. After she was released, she would be sent to Jiangbei for “training.” Actually, she would be detained in a brainwashing center.

An employee from Tongtian Community Office in the Xiangfang District told her family that the Community Office would take care of everything, and they need not participate. Ms. Yin Maorong, around 50 years old, and another woman from the Tongtian Community Office went with a male driver to pick Ms. Guan up.

Ms. Guan's family members went to the forced labor camp early in the morning that day to pick her up at the gate. Zhang Bo, chief of the management section in the forced labor camp, and others came out and shouted at her family to back their car up. Soon the community office vehicle drove out with Ms. Guan. One family member tried to block the car. Since it was moving fast, it stopped just before hitting the person. The driver backed up quickly and tried to drive away. Ms. Guan's husband got angry and opened the door, then dragged her out and into their own car.

Since then, Ms. Guan has been homeless to avoid further persecution.

Ms. Guan's Elderly Mother Longed to See Her

Ms. Guan Shujun was arrested, detained and sent to the forced labor camp. During many months of torture, she suffered a great deal. Her family members were also threatened and harassed. Her mother, in her 90s, worried every day. She waited for Ms. Guan's release, only to see her become homeless.
