(Minghui.org) When a procurator from Linkou County Procuratorate was accused by Ms. Wang Guiling's lawyer, he immediately shirked his responsibilities, stating that all Falun Gong cases were handled by the 610 Office. Her lawyer keenly responded, “What is the 610 Office? I have never heard of such a thing. There is no such organization in China's existing legal provisions.”

Deceived and arrested

Ms. Wang Guiling is a nurse. She works at Gucheng Town Linkou Forestry Staff Hospital. Police officers Ma Qingyuan, Li Zheng, and Hou from the Forestry Police Station raided Ms. Wang' home on March 13, 2013, and took three of her Dafa books. Ms. Wang left home just in time.

On March 15, Forestry Staff Hospital president Gao Feng called Ms. Wang to go to work and swore on his life that he would guarantee her safety. When she went to work the next day, she was arrested as soon as she arrived. That same day two police cars went to her home and took away most of her personal belongings and cash.

Linkou Town Procuratorate conspired with the 610 Office to persecute her. Linkou Town Forestry Court announced that her court date was July 2. Her family hired two lawyers from Beijing to defend her and sent out invitations for local people to attend the trial.

Court hearing moved up secretly

On the morning of July 1, Ms. Wang's lawyers and family members went to visit her at Linkou Town Detention Center, but the director refused to allow it. Her lawyers warned, “Our client has a right to see her lawyer. It is illegal to deprive her of her right to counsel. This is in serious violation of the law!”

The lawyers sued the detention center director via the Linkou Town Procuratorate. Staff from the procuratorate stated, “Wang Guiling's case is over.” They did not notify her family or her lawyers regarding the court date.

Her lawyers stated, "Linkou Forestry Court was in flagrant non-compliance with the court's legal obligations to notify a client's lawyers and family. The court has deprived her of her right to counsel and is abusing its power. The trial is illegal. Whatever the verdict, it will be invalid."

On the afternoon of July 1, her lawyers and family continued to negotiate with the protectorate and the court.

Why are public security personnel not afraid to violate the law?

On the morning of July 2, Ms. Wang Guiling's lawyers went to the detention center again, but the director still refused them, claiming that they had to have documentation from the Domestic Security Division and the court in order to visit Ms. Wang. Her lawyer said, “Neither court nor domestic security division can prevent a client from seeing her counsel. That is a basic right, we need no documentation from anywhere. I will not go get the documentation, but I will sue you, because you are preventing me from performing my official duties.”

After the lawyers left the detention center, they received a phone call. The caller would not identify himself but asked the lawyers to get the documentation from the court. So they went to the court. After they arrived, the staff began giving them a hard time. First they asked the court marshals to verify their ID, then they called the law firm in Beijing and also the Bar Association in Beijing to inquire about the lawyers. They were told that the lawyers were outstanding. They had no choice but to direct them to the 2nd floor, where all the judiciary personnel were, but they still refused to allow them to see Ms. Wang.

The domestic security division director said, “If you ask the police department and if they agree, I have no objections.” Staff from the Procuratorate said, “I already tried my best to reconcile.” The court staff flat out refused to allow them to see Ms. Wang. The lawyers warned them again, "You are violating the law."

The lawyers do not acknowledge the 610 Office

The lawyers went to the Procuratorate again to sue the director of the detention center for not allowing them to visit their client. The chief of the department thought this was a big issue and brought the lawyers to see the deputy director of the bureau. After he listened to the case, he stated that he had no way to help, either, that they had to see someone in the 610 Office. The lawyer asked him, “What is the 610 Office? What is this 610 Office? There is no such organization in our current Chinese legal provisions. I will not go looking for the 610 Office, I am talking to you!”

The deputy director of the procuratorate called the 610 Office and stated that the lawyers wanted to see Ms. Wang Guiling. The lawyers heard them passing the buck on the phone, and still refused the lawyers permission to see Ms. Wang.

The lawyers said they would sue those organizations that violated the law in the upper level judiciary system in order to uphold the dignity of the law.
